Chapter 1 - Cliche Development

"Ughhhhh..."

What the hell? Why am I feeling pain? I opened my eyes, but my vision was blurry for a few seconds, so I couldn't see properly. All I could feel was pain all over my body. Don't tell me an earthquake happened and I got crushed. I hope it isn't too serious.

I groaned again in pain as my vision finally cleared. Huh… where am I? This isn't my ceiling. I turned my head slightly despite the pain, I needed to know where I was, because I was sure this wasn't my room. In fact, it wasn't even my house. There was a bed… and someone lying on it. But why is he covered in..oh my god, don't tell me this is really a hospital.

"You are awake. Good, I will report it."

Hearing the voice, I turned my head to the other side. A woman wearing a white coat was there, along with a man behind her taking some notes. They were already turning to leave without saying anything else.

"Wait!" I shouted with all my might. Argh! my jaw hurts too. What the hell happened to me?

"What happened?" the man spoke this time. "If you want to know about your squad, I can only say most are already dead, and the rest are heavily injured. If you want to meet someone, it's better to wait."

????

What the hell is he talking about? What squad? Are you mistaking me for military?

Don't tell me…

"Where am I? Also… what's my name?" My mouth was already dry since I had some assumptions, but it was better if I was wrong.

"Itsuki Uchiha, have you lost your mind? Don't you see the Hidden Leaf symbol on the wall? Don't—" I could see the man was getting angry as he spoke, but he was interrupted by the woman in front.

"Okay, Nito. Can't you understand he's confused? Isn't it something you have experienced countless times?"

"Hmp." Ignoring the man's snort, I focused on the woman. She seemed to have more patience than him.

"As he already said, your name is Itsuki Uchiha, and currently you are in Konoha Hospital. It looks like you have lost some of your memories. Well, it's nothing new, many shinobi have experienced this."

"Shinobi?"

"Yes, shinobi. Do you not remember even the basic details? Looks like your head injury was more serious than it seemed. I have to inform your clan too."

Saying this, she didn't wait for me and immediately left with the man.

I remained silent for a moment before muttering, "Why?" Just why? I didn't even ask for this transmigration. I didn't fill out some form, nor did I meet Truck-kun. So why?

I couldn't help but sigh. Let's see if I can access the memories of the original Itsuki.

Closing my eyes, I tried to focus, and the result was that I could see some glimpses, his parents… their death… training within the clan… getting deployed to the Mist battlefield… and the ambush while returning.

"Argh…" It's really too much to process. Taking a deep breath, I tried to calm myself down. According to those memories, the Uchiha genius, Shisui of the Body Flicker, is already 15. That means it's only about a year before his death, and not long after that… the Uchiha massacre.

What kind of cliché development is this? I've read thousands of Naruto fanfictions with the same plot, MC gets transmigrated as an Uchiha right before the genocide, along with some sort of cheat.

Speaking of cheats… System, are you there?

I need to check if I have something to help me survive before making any plans. In fact, it's more about reassurance, that I'm not completely out of options, and that all of this is real.

DING.

Gacha System activated.

A holographic screen appeared in front of me, and information about it started flowing directly into my head. Does this mean someone is really behind my situation? Giving me tools to survive like I'm some kind of entertainment?

Well… I can't do anything about that right now. So, let's focus on the system first.

It seems others can't see it. A nurse just passed by my bed without showing any reaction to the screen. Good.

Itsuki Uchiha

Race: Human

Characters Assimilated:

Fully Assimilated:

– None

In Progress:

[–None] [–None]

Powers:

–None

Items:

–None

Cards:

–None

What the fuck? Why is the powers section completely blank? Itsuki knows so many jutsu, and he even has his Sharingan unlocked.

Instead of overthinking it, I decided to check the second page first. There were four pages in total on the interface. The moment I thought about switching, the screen flickered slightly before shifting to the next page.

Points: 1 (1 Point = 1 DAY)

Exchange Mode: (1 Point = 1 USD or equivalent)

Mode:

Free Mode: 10 Cards / 1 Point

Normal Mode: 1 Card / 3 Points

In-Setting Mode: 1 Card / 6 Points

Hmm…So there were two main ways to obtain points, which were then used to draw cards.

The first method was passive. I would receive one point every day, meaning that every month I would approximately have somewhere between 30 points.

The second method was through money exchange. I could convert money directly into points at a rate of 1 point per dollar. However, there was a limit, I could only exchange up to 100 points per month through this method.

Then there were the Gacha modes themselves.

The first one, Free Mode, gave ten cards instead of giving daily point, which was incredibly cheap. Means I can choose whether I wanted daily point or the cards. However, the downside was obvious, the card quality would likely be much lower, and the probability of getting something powerful would be extremely small.

The second option, Normal Mode, required three points for one card. It was far more expensive per card, but the quality would probably be much higher.

The third option, In-Setting Mode, was even more costly. Each card required six points, and the cards drawn would come specifically from the world I was currently in. In other words, Naruto verse-related rewards. That was literally double the cost of the normal mode, whose pool seemed to include the entire Omniverse and more.

While the first mode gave the highest number of cards, their quality would likely be mediocre at best. The Normal Mode, on the other hand, seemed much better for steady growth. Even though I would get fewer cards, they would at least be useful enough to strengthen me.

Under normal circumstances, I would definitely choose Normal Mode to develop my abilities faster.

But right now… I needed something immediately.

Something that could at least give me a bit of security.

So instead of saving points, I decided to test the Free Mode first.
