Chapter 2 - a father on his knees

Chapter 2

The mansion was silent.

Too silent.

Keifer's place didn't feel like a home.

It felt like a warning.

Jasfer stood at the entrance.

He had faced enemies.

Guns.

Deals.

Death.

But this…

This door…

Made his hands shake.

"Sir…"

A guard looked at him.

"State your purpose."

Jasfer swallowed.

"I… I need to meet him."

The guard didn't move.

"No appointment."

"I'll wait."

Hours passed.

Standing.

Waiting.

Like a nobody.

Like a man with nothing left.

Finally—

The door opened.

"Boss will see you."

Jasfer's heart pounded.

Each step inside felt heavier.

Darker.

Colder.

And then—

He saw him.

Keifer

Sitting calmly.

As if the world bent around him.

No expression.

No rush.

Just power.

Jasfer stopped walking.

For a second…

He couldn't speak.

Because this man…

Wasn't just dangerous.

He was untouchable.

"Say it."

Keifer spoke.

Without even looking at him properly.

Jasfer's throat dried.

"I…"

The words didn't come.

"I don't have time."

Keifer added.

Cold.

That broke him.

Because time…

Was exactly what he didn't have.

"Please…"

The word slipped out.

And the room changed.

Keifer's eyes lifted slowly.

Interest.

"Please?"

Jasfer stepped forward.

His pride…

His ego…

His status…

All gone.

"They're going to kill my daughter."

Silence.

Keifer just watched him.

"And?"

Jasfer's chest tightened.

"I… I know only you can stop them."

No response.

"Please…"

His voice broke.

"I'm begging you."

Still nothing.

And then—

Jasfer did the unthinkable.

He dropped to his knees.

The sound echoed.

Loud.

Heavy.

Even the guards looked shocked.

A man like him…

Begging.

"Save her."

His head lowered.

"She's innocent."

"She has nothing to do with my mistakes."

His hands trembled.

"I'll give you anything."

A pause.

"Anything."

Silence filled the room.

Dangerous.

Testing.

Keifer leaned back slightly.

Studying him.

A powerful man…

Broken into pieces.

"For a daughter…"

Keifer murmured.

Jasfer didn't move.

"I'll die for her."

Keifer's gaze sharpened.

"Die?"

A faint smirk.

"That's easy."

Jasfer looked up.

Desperate.

"Then tell me what you want."

A pause.

A long one.

Then—

"Her."

The word fell like a blade.

Jasfer froze.

"My… daughter?"

Keifer stood up slowly.

Walked toward him.

Each step…

Like a countdown.

"If she becomes mine…"

He said quietly.

"No one will touch her."

Jasfer's breath shook.

"You mean… marriage?"

Keifer stopped in front of him.

"Call it whatever you want."

A pause.

"But once she's mine…"

His voice dropped.

"She stays mine."

Jasfer's heart shattered silently.

Jay…

His little girl…

Thrown into this world…

With this man…

But the image of the gun…

The threats…

The photos…

Flashed again.

If not him…

She dies.

Tears filled his eyes.

But he nodded.

"…okay."

His voice was barely there.

"I agree."

Keifer watched him carefully.

"Bring her."

"And don't try to be smart."

Jasfer bowed his head again.

"Thank you…"

But it didn't feel like gratitude.

It felt like…

He just sold his daughter's life.

To save it.

And as he walked out…

His steps were unsteady.

Because he knew—

Jay would hate him.

And this time…

She would be right.
