Chapter 3 - Old Friend

"First of all… take your hand off my chest."

"Oh—my sincere apologies! But haha… you know, boys tend to like things like that, right? Besides, I didn't really do anything—I just gave it a little squeeze! And judging by your size… I don't really like this. At the very least, I prefer a C cup. Haha, haha… anyway, this is way too small, isn't it?"

"Cup? What's that supposed to mean?"

"Oh, you really don't know? Haha… well, it's better that you don't. These aren't exactly good things to know."

"But who are you? Where are you talking to me from? And… where am I right now?"

Hearing Riana's questions, Velerina finally began to speak. Their conversation continued until late into the night. Sleep never touched Riana's eyes—only thoughts filled her mind.

"You know… it's true. I tried to bring you back to life. But I didn't know how to do it properly, nor how to return you completely. After your death, your body—and your father's—were burned. I only managed to preserve some of your bones… and your head."

"My body… was burned?"

"Yes. From what I learned from a church priest, if even a part of a body remains after death, it's possible to recreate a new body from it. That's why I kept what I could."

Riana sank into deep thought.

Is it really possible to bring a dead person back to life? No… this must all be a dream. Something like this can't exist in reality…

She let out a long sigh.

"But for now… I should focus on what's in front of me. From what I understand—my father died, and so did I. Somehow, I must have helped you, and out of gratitude, you tried to revive me. But it failed in reality… So my question is—how did I end up inside your body?"

Velerina began to answer.

"Yes… it's true. I tried for ten years, but I failed every time. Yesterday, I went to that festival. On my way back, I met a stranger."And he helped me to revive you.

"A stranger? Can you describe him? What did he look like? How tall was he?"

"From what I saw… he was an incredibly handsome man. Probably around fifty years old. I don't know his exact height. He looked like someone from a high-ranking family. But when I asked his name, he said… the one I was trying to revive already knows everything about him. From his expression, it felt like he had lost something very important in his life—and he deeply regretted it. You can tell a lot about a person just by looking at their face. Haha… I should praise my own intelligence. Since when did I become a psychologist? I really am quite wise. Haha!"

"Velerina? Velerina? Velerina!"

Riana raised her voice, anger evident.

"Weren't we talking about something important? What's wrong with you all of a sudden?"

Velerina hesitated, then continued.

'Oh Sorry '

"I asked that stranger what he actually wanted. I told him I had nothing to offer. After a long silence, he said—he already knew everything about me. That I was trying to bring my friend back to life… but in reality, it was impossible."

"I was completely shocked. I had told no one about this. So how did he know? But seeing me question him repeatedly, he realized I was suspicious of him."

"He stopped me and said, 'Listen, I don't have much time. Do you want your friend back or not? If you truly do, then follow what I say.'"

"After that, I began performing the rituals he showed me. But there was a problem—your body simply couldn't be recreated. When a person dies, their body eventually returns to the earth. But your two eyes… they now exist in someone else's body. Because of that, it was impossible."

"In that situation, the stranger advised me—if your soul could be brought into the body that possesses your eyes, then it might work. And… that's how your soul was brought into my body."

"I wanted to ask him more questions, but I lost consciousness. When I woke up, he was gone. Before leaving, he said… the regret he carried his whole life had finally come to an end. And… there's a chance you might meet him again in the future."

Riana's eyes were filled with countless questions.

In that state, she stood up and said,

"Rina… let's go outside for a bit."
