Jeju in November was cold.
I had said this would be the case and it was. The island's particular quality in the off-season was not unpleasant — the famous camellia flowers were still in bud, the tourist density was low, the roads along the coast had a swept-clean quality that they would lose in spring — but it was cold in the specific way that Jeju cold was, with the wind coming off the water and finding every gap in a coat that had been adequate in Seoul.
