Chapter 3 - First Pull

Lukas stared at the message floating in front of him, eyes wide.

His heart hammered in his chest like the beat of a war drum as he realized just what this meant. He slowly read the words again, just to confirm that he hadn't been hallucinating.

[Congratulations, Host. The Gacha Harem System has been activated.]

[Would you like to bind the system?]

A grin slowly spread across his face at the sight. His prayers had been answered! He'd finally gotten his cheat!

"YES!" He roared as he shot to his feet, pumping his fist in joy. "ABSOLUTE YES! FUCK YES!"

[Congratulations, Host. Gacha Harem System successfully bound.]

Lukas couldn't contain his joy, immediately pacing the room. It was as if someone had trapped lightning in his veins, giving him a sudden boost of energy.

He had read enough webnovels back on Earth to know what systems were, and now, he had one of his own.

He shook off the nervous energy that filled him, forcing himself to calm down, stop pacing, and think clearly.

"System, what is your function?" he asked.

[The Gacha Harem System is a randomized, luck based system that exists to help the Host summon beautiful wives from across existence, adding them to your harem. And with each draw, the Host copies the class, stats, and skills of the summoned wife at the time of summoning. Each member of the harem is completely loyal and devoted to the Host.]

As he read the description, the name of his system finally sank in.

Gacha Harem System.

He blinked, reading it again. Does that mean…

A perverted grin slowly spread across his face. He wasn't just getting a system, he was also getting a loyal harem of wives delivered directly to him with no effort whatsoever.

'I alone am the honored one.'

The game had changed, and it was now completely in his favor.

But that was not the most important part. No, the most important part of the system was the part that would give him the class, stats, and skills of his harem.

This meant he wasn't going to be stuck with just the [Thief] Class!

He sat down once more at the edge of his bed, letting that sink in.

Everyone who had awakened today was locked into their Class. Whatever they got at the podium was what they would build their entire future around.

The [Paladin] girl would train her [Paladin] skills, and Kylo would develop his [Spellblade]. Everything they would achieve would be built on the foundation of that one class.

And Lukas could stack them.

In his research about Classes, he's read about people who awakened double Classes. They were rare, but they existed. So, if he ever showed skills that didn't match [Thief] to those who knew him, they would simply assume that he was one of the rare cases. He wouldn't even have to explain himself.

But he knew to be cautious. He'd have to pick one Class as his public Class. The others he would gain later would have to be used with discretion.

There were stars in his eyes as he flopped back onto his bed and fantasized about wielding the skills of ten Classes at once.

What if he had the [Spellblade], [Paladin], and [Elementalist] Classes at the same time? Wouldn't that make him unstoppable within his rank? And if he had absurdly high stats, he would even be able to defeat higher ranked Awakeners.

He was still smiling at the ceiling when the system message changed, a new one appearing before him.

[You have been given a beginner gift pack. Would you like to open it or discard it?]

"Open it!" He said, sitting up immediately. Only someone who was not in their right mind would discard a gift pack from their system.

[Congratulations, you have received: 1 Free Draw, +100 Gacha Points.]

Lukas' eyes widened.

[1 free draw detected. Would you like to summon a new wife?]

He didn't hesitate. "Summon!"

A blue translucent slot machine immediately appeared before him, and its five reels began spinning. It felt like he was standing in a casino.

The reels spun, until a few seconds later, when they slowed.

The first reel stopped, displaying a golden star,

The second reel stopped, displaying another golden star.

The third reel stopped, but this time, it was empty.

The fourth stopped, also empty. The fifth was the same.

Ding!

[Congratulations! You have summoned a Two Star (Uncommon) Wife!]

The slot machine disappeared, immediately replaced by a tall, glowing blue portal.

Lukas stood from his bed and stumbled back in surprise as mist wafted from the portal. He raised one arm to shield his eyes as the light from the portal threatened to overwhelm his vision.

The light finally dimmed, just in time for him to see a woman step out of it.

The first thing he noticed was her hair. It was long and white, falling over her shoulders to frame the most beautiful face he had ever seen.

She had icy blue eyes, a cute button nose, and kissable lips. Pointed ears peeked out of her hair, and her skin tone was a beautiful light violet, marking her as a drow.

She wore a white, long-sleeved lace blouse, which was strained at the bust, struggling to contain her large breasts. The buttons held on for dear life, as if they were ready to pop the moment she breathed too deeply.

Around her torso was a black corset, which tapered downwards to her slim waist and equally black skirt.

Her hips curved outwards, showcasing a perfect hourglass figure. She had the kind of shape that made ordinary men into structural engineers.

But just as eye-catching was the large, sheathed sword that was strapped to her back.

Lukas' jaw dropped, the word spilling out of his mouth before his mind even caught up.

"Beautiful."

[Melody Finch]

[Age: 19]

[Race: Drow]

[Rank: B-rank Awakener]

[Class: Hexblade]

[Exp: 33.91%]

[Stats:]

[Strength: 854]

[Agility: 1247]

[Constitution: 1391]

[Mana: 2057]

[Skills: Cursed Blade, Hex Shield]

He was practically drooling as his eyes roved over her stats. She was a [Hexblade]! This was a class that was on par with Kylo's [Spellblade]! In fact, some would say it was a level above [Spellblade] because it utilized cursed energy, which was harder to heal.

The woman in front of him could end his life with a single stroke of her sword. And she was exceptionally talented, judging by the fact that she was already a B-rank Awakener at the age of 19.

Melody walked forward confidently, and Lukas took an instinctive step backwards before stopping himself.

However, Melody simply stopped a few feet away from him and went down on one knee.

"Your wish is my command, husband."

Lukas opened his mouth. Then he closed it. And opened it again. But before he could say anything, the system appeared before him.

[Would you like to copy the Class, stats, and skills of Melody Finch?]

'Yes.'

[Congratulations, Host. Your power has increased.]

[Lukas]

[Race: Human]

[Rank: E-rank Awakener]

[Class: Thief, Hexblade]

[Exp: 0%]

[Stats:]

[Strength: 866]

[Agility: 1267]

[Constitution: 1406]

[Mana: 2064]

[Skills: Pickpocket, Lockpick, Cursed Blade, Hex Shield]

Lukas stared at his new stats, eyes wide. It didn't quite feel real yet. After all, he was now an E-rank Awakener with the stats of a B-rank Awakener.

His eyes went down to his mana. With that amount of mana, he could outlast every E-rank Awakener several times over in combat.

For a B-rank Awakener, that amount of mana would be eaten up by the power of their skills, but as an E-rank Awakener, even though he now had the same skills as Melody, his version were still weak, so he could be as wasteful with mana as he wanted.

Speaking of skills…

[Cursed Blade: You can bind yourself to a single sword, infusing it with cursed energy. Each injury inflicted by the sword will cause a 2% drain on your enemy's life for a duration of five seconds.]

Lukas did the maths. A 2% drain for five seconds would mean that just by landing one hit and inflicting an injury, as long as there were no [Healers] or [Items] to restore health with the opponent, each injury inflicted would drain 10% of the enemy's health.

And this was the weak, E-rank version.

[Hex Shield: You can summon a barrier made of cursed energy to protect yourself.]

Lukas was itching to test out his new skills, but he had more pressing matters. He turned his attention to the woman kneeling before him and spoke.

"Rise, Melody." He grinned, extending a hand towards her. "My name is Lukas Valentine."
