Chapter 1 - From the Crash to the Crown (I)

A girl named Shen Shuyi was very intelligent and a genius. She learned how to use weapons, horse riding, and archery too. She belonged to a middle-class family. In school, because she was a genius, everyone respected her. She was a little possessive of the people on her side, but she was also very helpful; she would assist anyone being bullied without hesitation. This was also why she did not have many true friends, as everyone was somewhat afraid of her. Her mom was not her biological mother. When she was three, her mom left her alone at home on her birthday. After two years, her father remarried; the woman he married was her mother's best friend. Only then did she realize why her mother had left. Although this was her stepmom, she loved her deeply and gave her all the warmth she needed. Still, Shuyi misses her real mother every day.

This is why at school, when Shuyi gets violent, everyone fears her—she struggles to control her anger. The trauma of what happened back then turned into deep-seated resentment. Yet, even in her anger, she remains kind; she refuses to take her frustration out on her family or her friends. After some time her parents died in a plane crash when she was about to graduate. Due to her parents' death, she could not graduate from school. After that, at her parents' funeral, her maternal and paternal families were fighting for the inheritance. Shen Shuyi didn't care about the money or the fighting; her parents were no longer with her.

Shen Shuyi was in shock, so she didn't react to anything. She was feeling alone. After the funeral, she left that home. That day, it was raining very heavily. Shuyi was walking barefoot on the road. When she crossed the signal, a truck with brake failure hit her, and she died.

But this was not the end. The next morning, she woke up and was shocked. How did she survive? She looked around everywhere in shock. She saw that she was in a very luxurious room and her hair was so long that it touched her waist.

She woke up and walked towards the corridor. She saw that all the servants and the butler greeted her with, "Good morning, Young Miss Shen!" Then she saw a family photo hanging in the grand hall, right in the center.

It was then she realized that she had transmigrated into a book she was reading. The Female Lead (FL) shared her name, Shen Shuyi, and her nickname, Shiyi. To keep a low profile in school, the FL used her grandmother's surname, Zheng Shuyi.

This FL suffers from PTSD, which made her life complicated. She had two 'best friends' who were polar opposites: Su wan, who was kind and gentle, and Xiao Ningning, who was manipulative and scheme-filled.The book also features a Male Lead (ML) named Wen Shao Qing. Shen Shuyi and Wen Shao Qing were childhood sweethearts, and he has always loved her. Though they were childhood sweethearts, their relationship was tense. However, the FL is cold-hearted, ruthless, obsessive, and somewhat unhinged—a total 'psycho' in the eyes of others.

They all attend the same school. Beijing University is the dream school for every student. In Beijing, there are four top-tier families:

1.The Shen's and Wen's

2.The Lin's

3.The Su's

4.The Lu's

The children of these families are incredibly wealthy. The Shen family has a daughter, and the Wen family has a son. The Lin family has bipolar twins—a girl and a boy. The Su family has a daughter and a son, and the Lu family has an only son. They all grew up together, except for the Su family's son; because his family handles business overseas, he has been living abroad since middle school.

The FL's father works overseas, so Shuyi lives with her grandfather. She has two personal nannies who take care of her: Xiao Ma and Wang Ma. Since her mother died giving birth to her, she was raised primarily by Wang Ma. Wang Ma is a long-time family servant who has been with the family since her father was young, so Shuyi respects her deeply.

Xiao Ma is the biological mother of Xiao Ningning. As the saying goes, 'Like mother, like daughter.' She also has a personal butler, Uncle Wang, who looks after her needs at school. Her best friend, Su-wan, lives with her because her parents are overseas. Seven years ago, a mob boss targeted the Su family, so they hid their daughter by giving her to the Shen family for protection. Consequently, no one at school knows that Su-wan actually comes from a top-tier family. While Su-wan is an ambivert, Xiao Ningning is constantly scheming against her, trying to get the FL to disown Su-wan as her best friend. Xiao Ningning usually wins these mind games, but because the FL is an introvert, she never says a word about it.

After giving orders to Uncle Wang, she had him drive her to the Capital City. She returned around 9:45 PM. Wang Ma was the only one still awake, and when she saw Shuyi, she was shocked. Shuyi had cut her hair into a shoulder-length bob with bangs. Wang Ma told her she looked stunning and beautiful. After a quick dinner, Shuyi went to sleep.

The next morning, Su-wan headed to school early. At school, the children from the top-tier families are known as the 'Diamond Six.' Currently, everyone is gossiping about Shuyi's accident, unaware of the change that is coming.

The Diamond Six, composed of six students from the city's top four families, ruled the school with an iron fist: 1) The Shen daughter and the Wen son, 2) The Lin bipolar twins (a son and a daughter), 3) The Su daughter, and 4) The Lu son.

The group holds immense power; for instance, a school assembly cannot begin until every member of the Diamond Six has arrived. Shen Shuyi serves as the Leader, while Wen Shaoqing is the Vice Leader. For any group decision to pass, both must be in total agreement; if even one of them disagrees, the decision is canceled. Despite being childhood friends, the others can never predict what Shuyi is thinking or what she will do next. She wields the greatest influence within the group. Even though they are friends, when it comes to life or Once her trust was broken, Shuyi found it impossible to forgive. Both she and the ML are introverts who avoid strangers; furthermore, the ML is a germaphobe. And only the Diamond six members and his family knows about it. As Su-wan entered the school gates, she could hear everyone whispering about Shuyi's accident.

One week ago, at the engagement banquet for Shuyi and Wen Shaoqing, Xiao Ningning schemed against Su-wan once more. She produced photographs appearing to show Wen Shaoqing and Su-wan hugging and entering a hotel together. Though Shuyi felt a violent internal rage, she didn't say a word; she simply walked out of the banquet. It was raining heavily that night, and on her way out, she met with an accident. She hasn't been to school since—until today.

She went straight to where Lin Wanqing, her brother Lin Huaisheng (Ryan), and Wen Shaoqing were standing, mentioning that she hadn't seen Shuyi at the house. Suddenly, the sound of screeching brakes cut through the gossiping crowd.

The school gates swung open as a Mercedes-Benz Maybach SL 680, worth $145 millions, made a grand entrance. The students crowded around, maintaining a respectful eight-foot gap. Then, the car doors opened upward, and Shuyi stepped out in style, wearing dark sunglasses. The entire student body stood in shock, but Wen Shaoqing was completely stunned. He had liked her forever; when they were only six years old, he had told Shuyi that he wanted to see her with shoulder-length hair and bangs. Now, she looked exactly like the image he had carried in his mind for years.

He was lost in her beauty. Su-wan approached and kindly asked Shuyi how she was feeling and if her injury was still bothering her. As expected, Xiao Ningning interrupted, rudely asking Su-wan what right she had to even speak to Shuyi.

Ningning rushed over and grabbed Shuyi's hand, attempting to pull her away. However, Shuyi coldly flung her hand off. With a piercing gaze, she asked who the hell Ningning thought she was to touch her. The crowd gasped in shock. When Ningning tried to stammer out an excuse, Shuyi cut her off, declaring that no one was permitted to touch her without her consent. 'Anyone who dares to touch me,' she added with a deadly calm, 'is courting death.' Terrified, Ningning backed away.

Su-wan looked at Shuyi in disbelief and asked, 'What are you doing? Don't you know her? Why are you acting this way?'

Shuyi met her gaze with a deadly stare and coldly explained that, due to the accident, she had lost part of her memory. Wen Shaoqing felt a pang of sadness, yet he was secretly happy; if she only remembered their childhood, he might have a second chance. Meanwhile, Xiao Ningning was left shocked and reeling.

Ignoring the others, Shuyi walked toward Su-wan. 'We are eating in the school cafeteria today,' she stated. 'Wang Ma was too busy to make breakfast for us.' Su-wan felt a surge of joy. Even though Shuyi's tone was cold, she was thrilled that Shuyi was finally acknowledging her again. Shuyi then headed to class, leaving the rest of the Diamond Six in a state of total confusion.

They later confirmed the situation with Uncle Wang. He explained that she had truly lost a significant portion of her memory and warned that forcing her to remember could be harmful to her health. Consequently, the Diamond Six decided to protect her and agreed not to mention anything that might make her feel uncomfortable.

After class, Shuyi headed to the Diamond Six room. As she entered, the room fell instantly silent. She looked around at the group and asked, 'Why is everyone so quiet?'

When no one replied, she gave a cold smile. 'What? Am I a ghost? Why do you all look so terrified?'

Lu Qinghe (Leo), the Lu family's son, finally spoke up in a hushed voice. 'It's because we were just talking about the devil... and here she is.'

Shuyi lifted a knife from the table and ice-coldly asked, 'What?'

As Leo started to repeat himself, Ryan quickly covered his mouth and stammered, 'Nothing! We were just... surprised you cut your hair so short. You still look beautiful, though.' He spoke with a trembling voice, clearly terrified of her.

Shuyi picked up an apple, took her seat, and sat there like a 'devil queen.' 'So,' she asked casually, 'where are you planning to go horse riding?'

The group was stunned. Wanqing gasped, 'Didn't you lose your memory? How do you remember a plan we made three weeks ago?'

Shuyi remained perfectly calm. With a sharp, smart glint in her eyes, she replied, 'I never said I forgot everything.'

Shaoqing looked at her, baffled. 'What do you mean you didn't forget everything?'

Shuyi gave a savage reply. 'I lost a portion of my memory, not all of it. I am well aware that I wasn't like this before, but you had better get used to it. If you can't, you are free to ignore me or try to treat me as you did before—just don't you dare interfere in my business.'

'That's not what I meant,' Shaoqing protested.

'I know exactly what you meant,' Shuyi interrupted coldly. 'You think I've changed. And it's true. The Shuyi who suffered that accident is gone; the version of me standing before you now is different.'
