Chapter 7 - Testing Out the Abilities

The moment the STATUS panel appeared before his eyes, Alex's entire body went still, as if time itself had paused around him. His jaw slowly dropped while his breathing became shallow, almost unnoticeable, his mind struggling to process what he was witnessing.

For several long seconds, he didn't move at all. His eyes remained locked onto the translucent system window floating silently before him, its faint glow cutting through the endless darkness of the pocket dimension like something unnatural, something beyond human understanding.

"…Status…"

The word slipped from his lips unconsciously, almost like a reflex rather than a deliberate thought. He half-expected the panel to disappear the moment he acknowledged it—but it didn't. It remained there, steady, cold, and undeniably real.

A strange tension formed in his chest as his eyes slowly began scanning downward, line by line. His name appeared first, followed by his age, both of which felt familiar—yet something about them seemed subtly distorted, like they didn't fully belong to him anymore.

When his gaze landed on the "Species" line, his brows furrowed slightly. The strange, corrupted symbols mixed within the word made his stomach tighten faintly, as if he was looking at something that shouldn't exist within normal reality.

"…What is that supposed to mean?" he muttered quietly, his voice echoing faintly in the vast, empty space. A subtle unease crept into his thoughts, but before it could fully take root, his attention was pulled toward the abilities section.

The moment his eyes reached the first ability, his entire focus sharpened instinctively, as if his body itself understood that what he was about to read would change everything about his existence.

[Omni Presence – Stage 1: Awareness]

As the description formed beneath it, Alex's pupils shrank slightly. The ability to sense everything within a ten-meter radius wasn't just unusual—it was fundamentally unnatural, completely beyond the limits of any normal human capability.

"…Sense breathing… movement… even danger?" he whispered under his breath, his tone filled with disbelief. His heartbeat slowed slightly, not from calmness, but from the overwhelming realization that he was no longer bound by ordinary human limitations.

His gaze shifted downward again, almost hurried now, drawn by a mixture of curiosity and rising excitement that he could no longer suppress.

[Omni Growth – Stage 1: Fast Learning]

"…Learn techniques just by watching…?"

This time his voice carried a sharper edge of shock. His mind raced as he tried to interpret the implications of such an ability. Adaptation in life-and-death situations wasn't just useful—it was terrifyingly powerful.

"That's not just talent…" he murmured slowly, his eyes narrowing slightly as understanding began to form. "…that's evolution happening in real time." The thought sent a faint chill through his spine, mixed with an undeniable thrill.

Then came the third ability, and by now, Alex was already bracing himself for something absurd.

[Omni Space Master – Stage 1: Spatial Storage]

Teleportation. Storage. Spatial manipulation.

Each word struck his mind like a hammer, forcing him to reconsider everything he thought he knew about reality itself. This wasn't just power—it was control over the fundamental structure of space.

Alex let out a long, slow breath, running his hand through his hair as he tried to stabilize his thoughts. "…This is getting ridiculous," he muttered, though a faint grin betrayed the excitement building deep inside him.

But then—his eyes shifted downward toward the stats section.

And everything inside him went completely silent.

STR: 11 → 72

STM: 8 → 65

VIT: 19 → 110

AGL: 10 → 68

"…No way…"

The words barely escaped his lips, his voice almost breaking under the weight of disbelief. His pupils trembled as he stared at the numbers, reading them over and over again as if expecting them to change.

His fingers twitched slightly as his gaze locked onto the vitality stat. "…More than five times…" he whispered, his voice turning quieter, almost hollow. This wasn't growth—it was something far beyond that.

A slow exhale left his lips as he ran a hand down his face, trying to calm the storm of thoughts inside his mind. "I expected an increase… sure," he admitted, his tone uneven, "but not something like this."

His lips curled into a faint, disbelieving smile as he shook his head slowly. "This is insane…" he muttered, though the word didn't feel strong enough to describe what he was seeing.

Then, almost as if drawn by something unseen, his eyes moved to the final line at the bottom of the panel.

SOUL POWER: ??? (SEALED 99%)

His expression shifted immediately, the faint smile fading as curiosity and caution replaced it. "…So this is what the system meant earlier," he said quietly, his gaze lingering on the sealed percentage.

Something about it felt… dangerous.

Not in an immediate sense, but in a way that suggested something vast and uncontrollable was hidden just beneath the surface, waiting for the right moment to emerge.

Slowly, Alex lifted his head and looked around the pocket dimension once more. The endless darkness stretched infinitely in all directions, silent and unmoving, like a void that existed outside the laws of reality.

A thought formed in his mind—calm, yet filled with curiosity.

"Hey, System," he called out, his voice steady despite everything he had just witnessed. "Can I test my abilities here?"

The response came instantly.

[Yes, Master.]

Before he could react, another line appeared immediately after, as if anticipating his next thought.

[You may construct a training facility within this space.]

For a brief moment, Alex simply blinked, trying to process what he had just read. Then, slowly, his eyes began to light up with excitement, the earlier tension in his chest fading away.

"…You're serious?" he asked, a grin beginning to form across his face. The idea alone was enough to ignite something within him—a desire to explore, to test, to push his limits.

"Alright then…" he said, cracking his knuckles lightly as his expression sharpened with determination. "Let's see what I've actually become."

He closed his eyes slowly, focusing his thoughts with surprising clarity. Inside his mind, he began constructing an image—a massive facility designed purely for strength, growth, and relentless training.

The moment that image solidified—

Reality responded.

The darkness around him trembled violently, as if something invisible had begun reshaping the very fabric of the dimension itself. The empty void warped, twisted, and then began to take form.

A solid ground formed beneath his feet, stretching outward endlessly. A long stone pathway appeared, lined with perfectly spaced trees that swayed gently despite the absence of wind.

At the center of the path, a grand fountain emerged, crystal-clear water flowing smoothly into a marble basin, the soft sound echoing peacefully throughout the space.

And beyond it—

A massive structure rose into existence, towering and imposing, radiating a silent sense of purpose. It stood there as if it had always existed, waiting patiently for its master to arrive.

Alex slowly opened his eyes.

And froze completely.

"…Whoa…"

The word left his mouth in a quiet breath, filled with genuine awe. His eyes moved slowly across the scene, taking in every detail as his mind struggled to comprehend what he had just created.

"This is…" he stepped forward unconsciously, his footsteps echoing softly against the stone path, "…incredible."

Alex continued walking forward slowly, his footsteps echoing softly along the stone path as his eyes scanned every detail around him, still unable to fully believe this entire place was created by his thoughts alone.

As he approached the massive building, its sheer size became even more overwhelming, towering above him with a silent dominance that made him feel both small and strangely in control at the same time.

Reaching the entrance, Alex placed his hand against the door and pushed gently, the heavy structure opening smoothly as if responding to his presence without resistance or delay.

The moment he stepped inside, his eyes widened slightly as the interior revealed itself, stretching far deeper than expected, filled with countless machines, weights, and advanced training equipment arranged perfectly.

Rows upon rows of equipment extended into the distance, creating the atmosphere of a professional training facility, far beyond anything Alex had ever seen or imagined in his previous ordinary life.

"…This is perfect," he muttered under his breath, a faint smile forming as excitement slowly replaced the lingering disbelief still present deep within his thoughts.

Without wasting any more time, Alex walked toward the nearest set of dumbbells, his movements calm yet purposeful, as he prepared to test the limits of his newly transformed body.

He reached down and picked up a pair of twenty-kilogram dumbbells, lifting them effortlessly without any strain, as if he were holding nothing more than empty objects.

"…Too light," he said quietly, placing them back down with controlled movement, his expression showing mild dissatisfaction rather than surprise at the result.

Next, he grabbed the forty-kilogram dumbbells, raising them just as easily, his arms moving smoothly without hesitation, confirming that even this weight posed no challenge anymore.

Alex exhaled slowly, his eyes narrowing slightly as he processed the situation, realizing that his strength had already far surpassed normal human limits by an overwhelming margin.

"I guess I need something heavier," he muttered, turning his gaze toward the heavier section, where significantly larger weights were arranged neatly in increasing order.

Walking toward the rack, his attention locked onto a pair of massive dumbbells weighing one hundred and fifty kilograms each, their size alone enough to intimidate any normal person instantly.

He crouched down, gripping the handle firmly before lifting, the massive weight rising smoothly without resistance, his muscles barely reacting as if the burden meant nothing to him.

Alex frowned slightly, staring at the dumbbell in his hand as confusion mixed with curiosity, his expectations failing to match the ease with which he lifted such an extreme weight.

"That shouldn't feel this easy," he murmured, lowering the weight carefully as his eyes shifted toward the largest dumbbell resting at the far end of the rack.

Two hundred kilograms.

Taking a slow breath, Alex crouched again and gripped the handle tightly, preparing himself as he began lifting, this time feeling an initial resistance pushing back against his strength.

For a brief moment, the weight felt real, heavy enough to demand effort, but before that sensation could fully settle, a strange warmth suddenly spread through his arms.

The warmth flowed through his muscles like liquid energy, tightening and strengthening them simultaneously, as if his body was actively adapting to overcome the challenge in real time.

Within seconds, the heavy weight began to feel lighter, the pressure fading rapidly until it became manageable, then effortless, as if his body had already adjusted completely.

Alex's eyes widened slightly as realization struck him, his grip tightening unconsciously while he processed what had just happened within his own body.

"…Omni Growth," he said quietly, understanding forming clearly in his mind as he connected the phenomenon with the ability he had just read moments ago.

As if confirming his thoughts, the system window appeared once again, its glow faint yet noticeable within the vast interior of the training facility.

[Correct, Master.]

A slow grin spread across Alex's face, excitement replacing confusion as he looked down at his hand, feeling the strength flowing steadily through his body.

"So it adapts instantly while I'm training," he said, his voice carrying a hint of amazement mixed with growing confidence in his newfound abilities.

Without hesitation, he began lifting again, repeating the motion multiple times, each repetition feeling smoother, stronger, and more controlled than the last.

With every lift, that same warmth returned, reinforcing his muscles and stabilizing his movements, as if his body was continuously evolving with each passing second.

"This is completely broken," Alex muttered under his breath, though his tone carried more excitement than concern as he continued pushing himself further.

Finally, he released the dumbbell casually, letting it fall toward the ground without considering the consequences of its massive weight.

The moment it hit the floor, a loud crash echoed throughout the facility, the ground beneath it cracking violently as fractures spread outward from the impact point.

Alex turned his head toward the damage, blinking once as he observed the cracked floor, his expression shifting into mild embarrassment rather than concern.

"…Yeah, I should probably be more careful," he said awkwardly, scratching the back of his head as he stepped away from the damaged area.

His attention quickly shifted again, his curiosity pushing him forward as he decided to test another ability, eager to understand the full extent of his powers.

Walking toward a nearby rack, Alex picked up a small towel before closing his eyes, focusing his mind as he attempted to activate the spatial ability he had seen earlier.

At first, nothing happened, his concentration meeting only silence, but he didn't stop, instead pushing his focus deeper as he tried to sense something beyond his physical perception.

Gradually, a faint tingling sensation formed within his mind, subtle yet noticeable, as if something dormant inside him had begun to awaken slowly.

Then suddenly—

The towel vanished from his hand without any warning.

Alex's eyes snapped open instantly, his gaze shifting toward the rack where the towel had originally been placed, now resting there once again.

But before he could react further, a sharp pain struck his head, causing him to wince as he raised his hand to his forehead instinctively.

"Ugh… that hurts," he muttered, closing one eye as the discomfort lingered, clearly indicating the strain required to use this ability even once.

He exhaled slowly, regaining his composure as the pain began to fade, though the experience left a clear impression on his understanding of the skill.

"…Still worth it," he said quietly, a faint smile forming as excitement continued building despite the drawbacks of using such a powerful ability.

Taking a short breath, Alex straightened his posture before preparing to test the final ability, his expression becoming more focused and serious than before.

"Omni Presence," he whispered, closing his eyes once again as he allowed his mind to sink deeper into concentration without any unnecessary movement.

For a brief moment, nothing changed.

Then—

Everything shifted.

Within a radius around him, he could suddenly feel everything, the positions of objects, the structure of the environment, even the smallest details becoming clear without using his eyes.

It felt unnatural, yet incredibly precise, as if his awareness had expanded beyond his body, allowing him to perceive reality in a completely different way.

Slowly opening his eyes, Alex looked around, comparing what he saw with what he had sensed, confirming that both matched perfectly without any error.

A smile spread across his face, calm yet filled with satisfaction, as he realized how easily this ability could give him an advantage in any situation.

"…This one is amazing," he said quietly, nodding to himself as he acknowledged the usefulness of such a skill, especially in unpredictable or dangerous scenarios.

Then—

He paused.

The word surfaced in his mind without warning.

Combat.

His expression slowly hardened, the faint smile fading as a memory resurfaced, bringing with it a cold, sharp feeling that spread through his chest.

A creature.

A promise.

Alex clenched his fist tightly, his gaze lowering slightly as his voice turned colder, carrying a quiet intensity that hadn't been there before.

"Oh right…"

"I said I'd kill it."

A faint killing intent leaked from his body, subtle yet real, spreading quietly through the air around him, though he himself remained unaware of its presence.
