### Chapter 93: The Unbroken Core
The echo of Lyra's defiant declaration hadn't even fully faded before she moved.
She didn't wait for Silas to speak. She didn't wait to catch her breath, nor did she wait for her vision to clear. Every instinct that told her to fall back and conserve energy was violently silenced. Pushing off the cracked pavement, she burst forward with a sudden, desperate speed, her boots tearing up chunks of stone behind her.
Fire didn't just wrap around her hands—it erupted across her entire body, a volatile, roaring mantle of white-hot flame that consumed the cool air of the garden.
Silas's eyes narrowed as the distance between them evaporated in a fraction of a second. He raised his lead arm to parry, but Lyra didn't throw a linear strike. As she closed the gap, she slammed her right foot into the earth, executing a jagged, violent sidestep that defied her broken frame. The sudden shift in angle forced Silas's guard to tilt.
Lyra seized the opening, driving a blazing left hook directly toward his exposed ribs.
*BOOM!*
Silas snapped his elbow down, catching her forearm just in time. The collision detonated a shockwave of heat that scorched the surrounding hedges and rattled the glass panels of the distant greenhouse. Lyra screamed through gritted teeth, ignoring the agonizing recoil in her bone, and immediately spun on her heel, unleashing a reverse spinning heel kick aimed straight for his neck.
Silas ducked beneath the fiery arc, the displacement of air whistling past his ears. But before he could step into her blind spot, Lyra used the momentum of her spin to slam both palms into the ground.
*CRACK!*
A localized pillar of compressed flame erupted directly beneath Silas's feet, blasting upward. Silas was forced to leap backward to avoid the raw heat, his soles brushing the tops of the flames.
Lyra didn't give him a single second to land cleanly.
The moment his feet left the ground, she vaulted off the stone, rocket-propelled by twin jets of fire from her palms. She intercepted him mid-air, her eyes burning with pure, unyielding focus. She unleashed a blinding flurry of point-blank strikes—punches, elbows, and knee drives—each wrapped in dense, snapping flame.
*Thud! Crack! Bang!*
Silas was forced into a rapid, full-arm defensive guard mid-air, his forearms and palms meeting a barrage of furious blows. Every block deflected a wave of kinetic force that tore through the garden canopy above them, sending leaves and embers showering down like rain.
They crashed back onto the stone together. The moment his heels touched the earth, Silas shifted his weight and drove a lightning-fast counter-straight right for her chest, seeking to end the sequence.
Lyra saw it coming. She didn't try to block it—she knew she couldn't.
Instead, she twisted her torso violently in mid-motion, letting his fist graze her ribs, tearing through her tunic and leaving a deep, burning trail across her skin. The sheer wind pressure from his strike nearly threw her off balance, but she used the pain to anchor her focus. Taking the hit allowed her to get inside his range.
With Silas's arm overextended, Lyra locked her arms around his extended elbow, ignited her entire core, and drove her forehead straight into his chest with all the momentum she had left.
The impact was like hitting a wall of solid iron.
A sharp, deafening explosion of fire and shockwaves blew outward from the point of contact, shattering the remaining stone tiles beneath their feet and sending a massive plume of dust and smoke soaring into the sky.
When the smoke cleared, Lyra was on one knee, gasping violently, blood dripping from her nose and forehead onto the scorched earth. Her flames flickered weakly, reduced to faint embers around her wrists.
Silas stood before her, staring down at her, he didn't strike nor did he try attempt to help her he simply spoke.
"You are strong" He said,
"Very strong"
"However you are lacking, what have people, your personal trainers, your tutors always told you?" He asked,
"Be calm?"
"Do not fight with emotions?"
"Never rely on emotions to fight?"
"The fact is you fight, while suppressing your emotions, trying to keep yourself calm, even in the face of danger not a bad ideology" He explained,
"However...", he paused going down on one knee, using his hand to raise her chin as he looked at her eye to eye.
"Don't you think there is more to Lyra Valerius, your hiding your true nature behind that noble mask" he said
"That would only get you so far my dear, The power you seek lies behind that wall, lies behind that Malice you keep locked away"
"ACCEPT IT YOU ARE YOUR FATHERS DAUGHTER!!!"
Lyra remained unmoving as Silas let go of her chin, stood to his feet and turned her back o. Her and walked away, he had not even taken up to 7 steps when he began to feel and very unusual and death calling killing intent from behind him.
Silas then stopped in his tracks, turned around with a grin on his face as he stares directly at the now rising Lyra, her bloodlust was immense, driving every creature away as birds who hovered in the air scattered everywhere in fright.
Lyra was quiet, her eyes were fully blood red in colour as black pupils hovered in the middle of those blood red eyes, things that looked like veins trailing from her eyes, her left hand clenched tightly, as it began to absorb mana from the surrounding in her fist. Which then slowly began to glow, bright red in colour.
