Three hours had passed, and not only had there been no news updates, but Peter and the younger Peter were not answering their phones either. This made the people inside the Sanctum Sanctorum a little worried.
Of course, there was a reason neither of them was answering.
Peter had not brought a charger, so his phone had died a long time ago.
As for the younger Peter, he had not brought his phone at all, because he had broken it earlier.
And right now, the two of them were stuffing themselves at Burger King, having the time of their lives.
Peter had spent more than two hundred dollars on a huge table full of food, and the two of them were competing to see who could eat more. A bite of fried chicken, a handful of fries, then a bite of a fragrant Triple Whopper. It was unbelievably satisfying.
Ned watched a TV show out of boredom while saying, "When are Peter and the others coming back?"
"Who knows? But there probably won't be any accidents."
Ultimate Gwen was very calm about it. After all, Peter was such a freak.
"Peter... Peter... hurry up and come back..."
Ned subconsciously shook his arm. Unexpectedly, magical sparks appeared not far away.
They were the magical sparks of a teleportation spell.
"Hey, Ned, you can use magic to bring them back!"
Michelle Jones suddenly thought of something and looked at Ned in surprise.
"Oh, right. But I'm still not very good at it."
Although he had just spent two hours reading Sorcerer's Notes, he had not actually tried it yet. Ned did not dare say for sure that he would succeed.
"Try it. Aren't you always saying you have talent for magic?"
Encouraged by her, Ned stood up, stretched out the hand wearing the sling ring, and drew circles with his other hand while muttering nonstop.
"Peter!"
"Come back!"
On the other side of the magical circle, it seemed to appear on the rooftop of a tall building.
It was just past six in the evening, and the sky was still somewhere between light and dark.
Vaguely, they could see a figure sitting on the rooftop.
As if sensing movement behind him, the figure stood up and slowly approached.
However, out of caution, he kept a certain stance while moving, a stance that allowed him to enter combat at any moment.
When that person reached the circle and was illuminated by the lights in the basement, everyone discovered that he was an ordinary-looking middle-aged man.
"Hey, I told you I failed... I summoned a random background character."
Seeing that the person who appeared was neither Peter nor the younger Peter, Ned suddenly felt that his magic still was not good enough.
"Hello, Peter?"
Not far away, Doctor Octopus Otto saw the familiar figure and could not help walking up to him in surprise.
The ordinary-looking middle-aged man was also extremely shocked when he saw Doctor Octopus Otto. His pale green eyes widened, the corners of his mouth trembled slightly, and he subconsciously murmured, "Otto?"
The ordinary middle-aged man stepped through the circle and fully arrived on this side, curiously looking around at the furnishings inside the Sanctum Sanctorum.
"Wait, Doctor, you know this random background guy?"
Ned was a little curious. Had his magic succeeded or failed?
He had summoned a completely ordinary-looking background character, but someone here actually knew him.
Ultimate Gwen, who was standing to the side, said nothing. Because the moment the other person appeared, her spider-sense had flickered sharply in her mind. She was certain that Ned's magic had succeeded. However, the chubby kid seemed to have forgotten that this universe was no longer a single universe right now, so he might have pulled over a Spider-Man from another part of the multiverse.
"Long time no see, kid. You look a lot more weathered."
Meeting an old acquaintance made Doctor Octopus feel complicated. After all, the other party had once been his student, then later became his opponent. But he had to admit that Peter had talent.
"I'm already thirty-five, Otto. You're the one who looks exactly the same."
"How have you been, kid?"
"Hmm. Trying to be better."
The ordinary middle-aged man waved one hand, looking just like the boy next door as he spoke.
That was right. The person who had been summoned was none other than Tobey Maguire's original Spider-Man.
"Looks like you've grown a lot over the years. Are you still Spider-Man?"
"Yeah. Sometimes I really want to give myself a vacation, but you know how it is. I'm the friendly neighborhood guy."
Tobey smiled.
"Hey, wait. So he's Peter Parker too? Oh my God, that means my magic didn't fail!"
From their brief exchange, Ned understood that this should be Spider-Man from another world.
It seemed his magical talent was truly amazing. He had actually brought over a Spider-Man from another world on his first try.
At that moment, Ned gave himself a thumbs-up in his heart.
Ned, you're awesome.
"So, did you marry your girlfriend?"
"Yes. We're married, and we have a daughter named Daisy Parker. She's a very cute little girl."
When Tobey mentioned his daughter, his gaze became very gentle, and he looked every bit like a loving father.
"Looks like you're trying to find this world's Spider-Man. I did see two guys who weren't wearing Spider suits swinging through the city on webbing. I just don't know if they're the friends you're looking for."
Tobey immediately understood why he had appeared here. He suddenly remembered that when he had been sitting on a tall building enjoying the view, he had seen two monkey-like figures swinging past on webbing. He had thought his eyes were playing tricks on him.
"Hey, you're Peter? Why do you look older than me?"
Aunt May curiously stepped forward and looked Tobey over, unable to stop herself from asking.
"Ma'am, who are you?"
"Does your world not have May Parker?"
Aunt May's words completely confused Tobey. His world did indeed have Aunt May, but his Aunt May was a kind old lady, not a beautiful middle-aged woman.
Oh my God. The multiverse really was crazy.
"All right, Ned, hurry up and bring those two slackers back."
Ignoring the few people catching up with each other, Michelle Jones asked Ned to try again.
After the first attempt, Ned's confidence had increased greatly. He immediately nodded and focused hard, using magic to start searching for Peter and the others.
"Help us find Peter Parker! The friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!"
"Peter!"
The magical portal opened again. This time, it seemed to lead to the corner of an alley. It was very dim, but in that corner stood a Spider-Man in a red-and-blue skintight suit.
"Why is there only one?"
"Oh, crap. I must have messed it up again!"
Ned said dejectedly.
However, the person wearing the Spider suit on the other side of the portal had already crossed through it and jumped in. He openly introduced himself.
"Hey, I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! This sounds crazy, but I should be from another universe, and my name is also..."
"Peter Parker, right?"
Everyone said speechlessly, because this was no longer any secret.
"All right, looks like you all already know."
Spider-Man helplessly took off his mask, revealing the face of a young man around twenty-five or twenty-six years old. If Peter were here, he would definitely recognize who he was.
Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker.
