Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Awakening of the Sky

The wind tore across the floating isles of Zerra, a forgotten island suspended high above the clouds, its jagged cliffs trembling under the relentless gusts. Rayan D. Kairo stood at the edge of a sheer rock, eyes fixed on the horizon, where the sky shimmered in hues no human had ever named. His dream had always been larger than life itself to reach the highest point of the skies, to become the Sky King, to wield a power that no one had ever seen. People laughed at him, mocked the audacity of a boy from a poor island daring to aim for the heavens. Yet Rayan did not smile. He did not flinch. His determination was carved into his very soul.

A sudden blue light cut through the clouds, shattering the sky as if a divine blade had sliced through it. The floating islands trembled beneath the force of it. Rayan's heart raced. The light was not ordinary—it pulsed with energy, a rhythm that seemed to synchronize with the beat of his own heart. Without thinking, he stepped forward. Each movement felt heavier than the last, yet driven by an inner compulsion he could neither resist nor explain. Something someone was calling to him, and the boy obeyed instinctively.

At the source of the light lay a crystal, small yet radiant with an intensity that defied its size. Its blue glow seemed to stretch into the sky, whispering promises of power and peril. Rayan reached out, fingers trembling, and the moment his skin touched its surface, a surge of energy coursed through him. It was as though every cell, every nerve in his body had been awakened. Pain and exhilaration mingled, and for a heartbeat, the world around him disappeared. Only the crystal and the burning awareness inside him remained.

"What… what is this?" he whispered, voice barely audible over the howl of the wind. His eyes widened as the crystal's light wrapped around him, searing yet invigorating. He felt time itself slow, the air thickening, the ground trembling beneath him. Something had chosen him, and with that choice came a weight he could not yet comprehend. The dream he had carried for so long was no longer a distant vision it was real, tangible, and terrifying.

A shadow moved in the corner of his vision. He turned sharply, instincts screaming, and saw her. A figure, cloaked in black, standing with a sword drawn, eyes cold and calculating. The wind whipped her silver hair around her face, and she did not blink. Rayan's pulse quickened. He had never seen anyone move with such lethal precision.

"You shouldn't exist," the figure said, voice low, almost a whisper yet sharp enough to cut through the roar of the wind.

Rayan's mind raced. Who was she? How did she know about the crystal? His heartbeat thundered in his ears, but he forced himself to stay calm. Whatever this was, he would not flee. Not now.

The figure took a step forward, blade gleaming in the strange light. Rayan clenched his fists, feeling the energy of the crystal coursing through him, awakening muscles he didn't know he had. He had no name for this power yet, no control, but instinct told him it was his. His hand tightened around the stone.

The wind howled louder. The floating islands groaned and shifted, threatening to break apart. Rayan's eyes locked on the girl, a mixture of fear and determination swirling within him. "I don't know who you are… but I'm not backing down," he said, voice steady despite the chaos surrounding him.

The girl's lips curved into a faint smirk. "We'll see about that," she said, and lunged.
