Word of the mysterious illustrated pages spread through the lower districts like wildfire. What started as whispers in back-alley taverns had now escalated into full-blown obsession among the city's rogue mercenary guilds and unranked guards.
Inside the dimly lit training hall of the Ironclad Mercenary Troupe, dozens of muscle-bound warriors gathered around a single wooden table. On it rested the freshly printed pages of One Piece: Chapter 2.
"Look at this character... Roronoa Zoro," one scar-faced mercenary grunted, tapping his dirty finger against the black-and-white panel showing Zoro tied to the wooden cross, eyes fierce despite his starvation. "He isn't relying on rune-enchanted armor or high-circle barrier magic. He's carrying the weight of a promise."
"Is it true?" another swordsman chimed in, his hand nervously gripping the hilt of his shortsword. "Ren from the Local Guard pulled off a vacuum blade slash yesterday after studying Zoro's stance. The Arcane Directorate is already investigating!"
Before anyone could reply, the heavy oak doors of the training hall burst open. A squad of five Enforcers clad in reinforced mana-plate armor marched inside, led by Inspector Varis's top deputy, Sub-Commander Julian.
"By order of the Eighth Circle Arcane Directorate!" Julian's voice boomed, echoed by the hum of his glowing mana-spear. "All copies of this illegal conceptual literature are to be confiscated immediately. Anyone caught practicing unapproved martial techniques derived from these drawings will face execution for treason!"
Silence fell over the hall. The mercenaries tensed, but none dared to move against the Directorate's raw authority.
Except for one young recruit standing in the back row.
He held a worn copy of the chapter pressed tight against his chest. As Julian marched toward the central table to seize the manuscript, the recruit stepped forward, his knuckles turning white around his training saber.
"The story says..." the recruit stammered, his voice trembling before settling into cold resolve, "...that a true swordsman never lets his blade rust under a coward's command."
Julian sneered, pivoting toward the boy with his mana-spear charged to strike. "Insolent rat."
The recruit didn't cast a spell. He didn't invoke a rune. He simply shifted his footing into the wide, low stance Zoro took when facing Captain Morgan's executioners. A sudden surge of sheer physical intent rippled through the air, causing the magical light on Julian's spear to flicker violently.
Far across the district, sitting at his drawing desk, Leo felt the system interface inside his mind vibrate with unprecedented force.

Leo put down his ink pen and looked out the window toward the Directorate's central spire in the distance.
"They think they can suppress a story with fear," Leo whispered, a faint, confident smile appearing on his face as the ambient Conqueror's aura flared around his fingertips. "They have no idea how deep the roots of freedom run."
