Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Flames of Vengeance

The courtyard still trembled from the echoes of Wang Chen's first strike. Dust swirled around the scattered students, and the air was thick with the acrid scent of ozone and burning stone. For the first time, Wang Chen felt the true weight of power in his grasp—and the intoxicating taste of vengeance.

His target—the orchestrator of his family's ruin—scrambled to regain composure, but Wang Chen's eyes burned with cold fury. Every pulse of the Mechanical God's Heart resonated with the fury of years stolen, a living machine of retribution.

"You've underestimated me for the last time," Wang Chen said, voice calm but lethal, each syllable slicing through the air. "And you will pay—for my family, for every humiliation, for every insult."

The antagonist smirked, trying to mask his fear, but the confidence wavered. "You… you're just a cripple. What can you—"

The words died as Wang Chen activated the first secret skill of the Mechanical God's Heart: Overclocked Mechanism. Light blazed along his limbs, amplifying his strength tenfold. Time seemed to slow around him as he lunged forward. Each movement was precise, each strike calculated and merciless. The courtyard trembled with the force of his attacks.

Ren Yinian watched, eyes wide. "He's… incredible. Not just awakened… this is a whole new level of power."

Wang Chen's first blow shattered the antagonist's defenses, sending him sprawling across the cobblestones. The students scattered, whispers of fear and awe filling the air.

Amid the chaos, Ren stepped forward cautiously. "Wang… we need to move. The testing tower… it's next. They're not done with you yet."

Wang Chen's gaze flicked skyward. The towering structure of the academy's testing hall loomed, each level a trial far more dangerous than the last. The whispers of power from within called to him, promising both peril and opportunity.

"I know," he replied, voice firm. "And this time… I won't just survive. I'll dominate."

As they approached the base of the tower, familiar faces emerged from the shadows: allies who had quietly watched Wang Chen's rise, now ready to join his fight. An Xiaoxiao, nimble and determined, stepped forward, her eyes bright with unwavering trust. "I'm with you, Wang Chen. Wherever you go, I go."

Liuliang and Liuliang's sister, powerful healers, appeared alongside her, forming a protective barrier around him. The unexpected presence of these allies bolstered Wang Chen's confidence, the pulse of the Mechanical God's Heart syncing with their resolve.

The first level of the tower awaited them: a labyrinth filled with elite monsters, magical constructs, and traps designed to weed out the weak. A low growl echoed from within, sending shivers down the spines of lesser students—but Wang Chen's heart burned hotter than fear.

"Let's go," he said, determination sharp in his gaze. "We've already faced betrayal and humiliation. Nothing in this tower will stop us."

The monsters surged as they entered: venomous mushrooms that sprayed clouds of paralytic spores, shadowy wolves that moved with unnatural speed, and spectral figures that whispered threats into their minds.

But Wang Chen was ready. With Overclocked Mechanism, he moved with terrifying precision, his strikes cleaving through multiple foes at once. Sparks of mechanical energy lit his path, a hurricane of light and steel that left the monsters in ruin.

An Xiaoxiao darted through the battlefield, her magic complementing Wang Chen's mechanized might, taking down enemies before they could strike. Liuliang's healing aura flowed over the team, patching wounds almost as quickly as they appeared.

By the time they reached the central platform of the first level, the monsters lay broken and defeated. Wang Chen's chest heaved, a mix of exhaustion and exhilaration coursing through him. The Mechanical God's Heart had not only given him power—it had given him control over life, death, and destiny itself.

He glanced at his companions. "We've survived the first trial. But the next levels… they will be far more dangerous. We need to be ready for anything."

The team nodded, their eyes reflecting the fire in Wang Chen's heart. He had been humiliated, betrayed, and cast aside—but now, with his allies at his side and the Mechanical God's Heart within him, Wang Chen was no longer the boy who had begged for survival.

He was a force of reckoning.

And the tower… the tower would know his wrath.
