Chapter 9 - The Dark Reflection

The moment froze.

The air stopped moving.

Even the distant growls of the Void creatures faded into silence, as if the entire sector itself was watching what stood before Ayan.

Himself.

Same face.

Same presence.

But something was deeply wrong.

The other Ayan stood calmly, his posture relaxed, his eyes glowing with a deep crimson light that felt cold and empty. Unlike Ayan's energy, which flowed like light, this version radiated a heavy, suffocating darkness.

Rudra stepped back slowly. "No… no way… this is not real…"

Zyra's voice was low and tense. "This… is a corrupted reflection. The Void has created a version of him using the unstable energy."

The dark version smiled slightly. "Reflection?" he said. "No… I am what he hides."

Ayan felt a chill run through him.

"What are you?" he asked, his voice steady but his heart racing.

The dark Ayan took a step forward. "I am the part of you that doesn't hesitate. The part that doesn't fear. The part that understands power."

Ayan clenched his fists. "You're not me."

The figure tilted his head. "Aren't I?"

Before anyone could react—

He moved.

Faster than anything before.

In an instant, he was in front of Ayan.

A powerful punch landed directly on Ayan's chest, sending him flying backward across the ground. He crashed hard, the impact shaking the unstable surface.

"AYAN!" Rudra shouted.

Zyra stepped forward, ready to attack, but the dark Ayan raised his hand.

A wave of energy pushed her back instantly.

"You stay out of this," he said coldly. "This is between us."

Ayan slowly stood up, pain spreading through his body. That hit… it wasn't just strong.

It felt familiar.

Too familiar.

The dark Ayan walked toward him calmly. "You felt that, didn't you?" he said. "Same power. Same source."

Ayan steadied himself. "If you're me… then I know your moves."

The dark Ayan smiled wider. "No… I know yours."

He attacked again.

Ayan tried to block—

But the strike broke through instantly.

Another hit.

Another impact.

Ayan struggled to keep up. Every move he made, the dark version predicted it perfectly.

It wasn't just a fight.

It was like fighting his own mind.

Rudra shouted from behind, "This is cheating! He knows everything!"

Zyra narrowed her eyes. "Not everything…"

Ayan fell to one knee, breathing heavily. His energy flickered, unstable again.

The dark Ayan stood over him.

"This is why you will fail," he said. "You hesitate. You hold back. You fear losing control."

Ayan looked up, anger rising. "That's what makes me human!"

The dark version's expression turned cold. "That's what makes you weak."

He raised his hand, dark energy gathering rapidly.

"This ends now."

At that moment—

Something changed.

Inside Ayan, the light didn't just react.

It resisted.

The memory of his journey flashed through his mind—Earth, the message, Rudra, Zyra, the fight, the purpose.

He wasn't alone.

He wasn't weak.

He stood up.

Slowly.

His energy returned—but different.

Not just controlled.

Stronger.

Balanced.

Light and something deeper.

Zyra's eyes widened. "He's… stabilizing both energies…"

The dark Ayan paused for the first time.

Ayan looked directly at him.

"You're right," he said calmly. "You are part of me."

The dark version narrowed his eyes.

"But you're not all of me."

The light around Ayan flared—not wildly, but powerfully, like a controlled storm.

This time—

He moved first.

Fast.

Precise.

The dark Ayan tried to counter—

But Ayan changed his pattern mid-move, something unexpected.

The strike landed.

A direct hit.

The dark version was pushed back.

For the first time—

He was surprised.

Ayan didn't stop.

He continued attacking, mixing instinct with control, not relying only on power but on decision.

Every move was different.

Unpredictable.

The dark Ayan struggled to adapt.

"You've changed…" he said.

Ayan's voice was calm but strong. "I've grown."

With one final movement, Ayan gathered his energy and released a focused burst of light directly at the dark version.

The impact was massive.

The ground cracked.

Energy exploded outward.

When the light faded—

The dark Ayan stood there, weakened, his form unstable.

He looked at Ayan… and smiled.

"This isn't over," he said softly. "I don't disappear… I evolve."

His body began to break apart into dark energy.

"And next time… I won't hold back."

Then—

He vanished.

Silence returned.

The red eyes in the distance faded.

The Void creatures retreated.

Ayan stood there, breathing heavily, his energy slowly calming.

Rudra ran to him. "BRO! That was insane! You literally fought yourself and WON!"

Zyra walked closer, her expression serious. "No… this was only the beginning."

Ayan looked at his hand again.

The energy there was different now.

Not just light.

Not just power.

Balance.

But deep inside…

He could still feel it.

That darkness.

Waiting.

Watching.

And growing.

Far away, in the depths of the Void—

A faint red glow pulsed again.

And a voice whispered—

"Soon."
