Greed flourishes when sufficiency can no longer satiate the boundless reach of expectation—when all that is held appears trivial, and the sacred begins to lose its luster. Value is eroded when the world is measured solely by the cold yardstick of utility, forsaking the echoes of memory and the sanctity of what once was. Yet, it is from the wellspring of purity that humanity first learned the art of sincerity; that we might grasp the true essence of sacrifice. Not to garner the hollow praise of shallow humans, but for the greater good—to extend a hand to the weary, and to reweave the tapestry of joy that injustice had unraveled.
