Chapter 6 - Chapter Six: When the Silence Finally Spoke

The night felt unusually quiet, as if the world itself was holding its breath. Raihan stood beneath the vast evening sky, his eyes fixed on a single star that glowed softly above him. It had become a habit now, looking at that star, searching for something he could not explain. The cold breeze brushed against his face, yet he barely noticed. His thoughts were lost somewhere between memory and confusion, tangled in the words that refused to leave his mind. Aira had said that he was only remembering half of the story, and those words now echoed inside him like an unfinished sentence waiting for its meaning.

He tightened his grip on the bracelet in his hand. It no longer felt like a simple object. It felt alive, as if it carried a connection to something deeper, something hidden. Closing his eyes, he tried to focus, to pull back the memories that kept slipping away. At first, there was nothing but darkness. Then suddenly, a flicker appeared. Rain poured heavily over a silent road. A figure stood in front of him, unmoving, almost waiting. His heart began to race as the scene grew clearer, yet before he could understand it, everything faded again.

A sharp breath escaped his lips. Frustration filled him as he opened his eyes. Why was it so hard to remember something that felt so important. Why did every memory break apart just when he got close to the truth. He looked up at the sky again, searching for answers in that distant star, but it remained silent.

And then, softly, almost like a whisper carried by the wind, he heard his name.

Raihan.

His entire body froze. The voice was gentle, familiar, and impossible to ignore. He turned around quickly, his heart pounding.

Neela.

The name left his lips without hesitation. It felt natural, as if he had been waiting to say it for a long time. The air around him seemed to shift, growing still and heavy. Then the voice came again, clearer this time, filled with something he could not define.

Find me.

There was no doubt now. It was real.

Without thinking, he began to walk. His steps felt guided, as if something invisible was leading him forward. The streets were quiet, almost empty, and the dim lights cast long shadows that moved with him. Every step felt like crossing into a different world, a place where reality and memory no longer followed the same rules.

As he moved, fragments of the past began to return. He saw Neela standing by the river, her hair gently moving with the wind, her eyes reflecting the fading light of the sunset. He remembered the way she smiled, soft and calm, as if she carried a world of unspoken emotions within her. But alongside those memories came something darker. A moment he could not fully recall, yet felt deeply connected to. Fear. Regret. A choice that had changed everything.

His steps slowed as a strange unease filled him. What if the truth was not something he wanted to remember. What if it was something he had buried for a reason.

The path led him to an old building at the edge of the city. It stood quietly, almost forgotten, its presence blending into the darkness. Raihan stopped in front of it, his heart beating loudly in his chest. Something about this place felt familiar, yet distant, like a dream he had once seen but could not fully recall.

Taking a deep breath, he stepped inside.

The air was still, carrying a faint scent that stirred something deep within him. His eyes slowly adjusted to the dim light, revealing a room that seemed untouched by time. Dust covered the surfaces, yet everything felt strangely preserved. In the center of the room stood a small table, and on it lay a notebook. The same notebook he had been holding.

His breath caught.

Before he could move closer, he felt it. A presence.

It was not something he could see immediately, but he could feel it. The air shifted, growing heavier, filled with an emotion that was both familiar and overwhelming. Slowly, he turned around.

And there she was.

Neela stood a few steps away, just as he remembered her. Her eyes met his, filled with a quiet depth that words could never fully express. For a moment, time seemed to stop. Nothing else existed. Not the past, not the confusion, not even the questions that had haunted him. Only her.

Raihan could not speak. His mind struggled to understand what he was seeing, but his heart already knew.

She was real.

Neela took a small step forward, her gaze never leaving his. There was a softness in her expression, but also a sadness that he had never fully understood before.

You finally came.

Her voice was gentle, yet it carried a weight that made his chest tighten. Raihan swallowed hard, trying to find his voice.

Where did you go.

The question came out broken, filled with all the confusion and pain he had carried.

Neela looked down for a moment, as if searching for the right words. When she looked back up, her eyes held something deeper. Something he was not ready to face.

I never truly left.

Raihan felt his breath catch again. The words did not make sense, yet they felt true.

Then why.

His voice shook.

Why did everything feel like it ended.
