Chapter 47 - Chapter 46: The Gardener of Memories

Inside the frozen void of Lu Chen's subconscious, a battle of colors was unfolding. The grey mist of the Tenth Law was being choked by the suffocating purple vines of Fang Yuan's parasitic seed. Lu Chen himself sat in the center, a faceless mannequin, devoid of history or desire.

Suddenly, a soft, green light flickered. Lin'er appeared, not as a warrior, but as the young healer she used to be. She walked through the purple thorns, her hands glowing with the essence of life.

"You traded everything for a weapon, Chen," she whispered, kneeling before the empty shell of his soul. "But a weapon without a reason is just a piece of scrap. I won't let him turn your emptiness into his throne."

She didn't fight the purple vines with force. Instead, she began to "plant" seeds of light. These weren't memories of the future, but raw, primal emotions: the warmth of the sun in the Pavilion, the smell of the dry papyrus in his childhood home, the sound of Yue Xiao's voice.

As these "emotions" took root, the grey mist of the Tenth Law began to react. It wasn't restoring his memories; it was creating new ones from the fragments of his sacrifice. The purple vines shrieked, burning as the soul of Lu Chen began to reclaim its territory.

"Wake up, Chen," Lin'er's voice echoed, her form becoming translucent as she poured her final essence into him. "Don't remember the past. Feel the present. The ice is melting, and she is waiting."

A crack appeared on the surface of the glacier in the physical world. A single, golden tear rolled down the frozen cheek of Lu Chen.
