Within the range of Luo Fan's Observation Haki, he sensed hundreds of presences.
In terms of physical fitness, most of these presences were only slightly stronger than ordinary people, but they were armed with various firearms and cannons; it was obvious they were ordinary Marine Soldiers without even looking.
Aside from these ordinary Marine Soldiers, there were also about a dozen people whose presences were much stronger than ordinary Marines, and the leader among them even made Luo Fan feel a slight sense of threat.
Of course, it was only a slight threat; if the two of them actually fought, Luo Fan was confident he could kill him in an instant.
"It seems the CP Organization sent quite a few people over!" Luo Fan muttered to himself.
For the following week, Luo Fan and Noy remained hidden in Ohara.
During this period, Luo Fan used the color-changing ability of his Jacket to sneak into the Tree of Knowledge. After using Haoshoku to knock out the Scholars guarding the basement, he made a rubbing of a poneglyph that Ohara had been studying.
While he was at it, he also copied some research results on the Ancient Script.
To be honest, Luo Fan was quite interested in ancient literature. Back on the Moby Dick, Luo Fan had thought about asking Oden for guidance on reading and writing the Ancient Script.
However, because Luo Fan hadn't eaten the Winged Human Fruit at first, and Oden's family left the Whitebeard Pirates shortly after he consumed it, he never had the chance to learn the Ancient Script.
Now that he had seen Ohara's research results on ancient literature, Luo Fan thought about it and felt there was no reason not to take it, so he copied a set while he was there.
After leaving the basement of the Tree of Knowledge, Luo Fan returned to the temporary base he shared with Noy: a tree hollow by the seaside.
Speaking of which, Noy was the one who found this tree hollow; according to Luo Fan's original idea, he thought being Up on the branches would be quite nice.
But Noy didn't agree and insisted on finding this tree hollow.
Over the past few days, Noy had been working hard to find and control the cat population on Ohara island.
Most of the people on Ohara were relatively poor and basically couldn't afford pets. Therefore, after searching the entire island for both domestic and stray Cats, Noy only found a total of over 300 Cats.
What gave Noy an even bigger headache was that among these 300-plus Cats living and born around the Tree of Knowledge, not a single one had a high IQ.
Left with no choice, Noy had to use a crude method: first, she had Luo Fan use Haoshoku to intimidate the Cats, and then she gradually guided the Cat population.
Fortunately, hard work pays off. Through Noy's efforts, she finally managed to tentatively domesticate the Ohara cat population, turning these Cats into their eyes and ears.
The Cats were distributed across every corner of Ohara according to Noy's instructions.
While the CP and Marines monitored every move of the Ohara Scholars, Ohara's Cat Corps was monitoring the CP and the Marines.
More than half a month passed like this. One afternoon, Luo Fan and Noy were lying together on a large tree near the coast.
"Luo Fan, what are we doing here?" Noy asked curiously.
Luo Fan didn't answer Noy's question directly. Instead, he pointed to a dark-skinned little girl below wearing a deep red dress and asked Noy, "Noy, do you see that girl down there?"
"I see her. Is there something wrong with her?" Noy asked with a look of confusion.
Luo Fan reached out a paw and patted Noy's head, saying, "There's nothing wrong with her, but through her, we can see the beginning of the disaster for Ohara!"
Noy didn't quite understand what Luo Fan meant by that, but she didn't ask further. She just silently followed Luo Fan to watch the little girl whenever they had free time.
When they were both busy, Noy would have two kittens from the Cat Corps keep an eye on the little girl.
After two days of observation, Noy learned that the little girl's name was Nico Robin, and her mother was Nico Olvia—the woman who had made Luo Fan decide to leave the Sabaody Archipelago a while ago.
To Noy's even greater surprise, two days later, the other protagonist who had caused Luo Fan to leave the Sabaody Archipelago, the giant Vice Admiral Saulo, actually drifted to Ohara, and the one who saved him was Nico Robin.
Now Noy completely understood; so this was the 'beginning of the disaster for Ohara' that Luo Fan had mentioned.
With the arrival of Vice Admiral Saulo, Nico Olvia also landed on Ohara a few days later.
By this time, the Navy and CP must have also received the news, as everyone began to take action.
Meanwhile, out at sea, the Marine warships had already finished assembling.
"Noy, let the Cat Corps begin their final mission! The Buster Call is coming soon."
Noy nodded and passed Luo Fan's command to the Cats below.
The Cats immediately sprang into action. After the CP and Marines drove the Scholars out of the Tree of Knowledge, the Cats swarmed inside, carrying one precious document after another to Luo Fan.
Luo Fan didn't have time to look at what books the Cats were bringing out; he just focused on stuffing them all into his space in one go.
The Cats managed to rescue over 700 books, but at the same time, their unusual behavior caught the attention of the CP and Marine Soldiers. Some Marine Soldiers even opened fire on the Cats.
For the safety of the Cats, Luo Fan did not let them continue the mission but instead ordered them to take refuge first.
It's worth mentioning that the shelter Luo Fan prepared for the Cats was something he had dug out bit by bit based on a cave. Its location was quite remote and it had two exits; the Navy's bombardment shouldn't reach there.
After doing all this, Luo Fan manifested his wings, preparing to carry Noy into the air. Once the Buster Call began, Ohara would turn into a sea of fire, and only the sky would be relatively safe.
However, the Cats' actions just now had already drawn an uninvited guest to Luo Fan. Just as Luo Fan was about to take off, two frozen spears emitting cold air flew straight toward him.
Noy was startled and instinctively moved to block Luo Fan.
Luo Fan smiled and directly transformed into Cat Gun Form. Two Thunder Feathers coated in Armament Haki shot out from both sides of his shoulders, instantly shattering the frozen spears into pieces.
After smashing the frozen spears, the Thunder Feathers didn't lose their momentum and continued shooting toward the distant Kuzan.
Kuzan felt a massive threat from these two feathers. His expression turned serious as he gathered all the cold air in his right arm and released an Ice Bird.
The Ice Bird collided with the Thunder Feathers, carrying powerful impact. After a burst of thunder, the Ice Bird was shattered by the electricity, while the Thunder Feathers were frozen solid, unable to advance further.
"A black cat with white wings... you must be that pet of the Whitebeard Pirates that Borsalino mentioned!" Kuzan didn't continue attacking, instead turning to question Luo Fan.
"That's me! Hello, Vice Admiral Kuzan!"
"My mood was already bad, and it's gotten even worse after seeing you. What on earth is a cat from the Whitebeard Pirates doing here in Ohara?"
"Vice Admiral Kuzan, I think you've misunderstood. Coming to Ohara wasn't Pops' idea; I wanted to come myself. As for the purpose... you should have seen it just now, right?"
