Carter spent the morning literally 'spending' the wealth he just gained. He bought a luxury car, spent a few thousands on an expensive suit, hired a driver, and even bought a penthouse and an old building within the city.
He also ordered a custom made business card. All rich people needed a nice business card.
When it was time to visit the gathering, Carter put on his best suit and climbed into his new shiny limousine.
The driver was an old man with white hair. He didn't even know Carter until this morning. But he knew that Carter was rich. And the driver had been driving a taxi for years. Now he got to be the driver for a millionaire.
"Where are we going, sir?"
"To the Ossie Tower, Clay."
"On it, sir."
In the dining hall of the penthouse on top of the Ossie Tower. A crowd of rich men and beautiful women stood around. They talked and they dined, completely oblivious to the horror of the world.
Some of them were distinctively different from the others. They wore black clothes and each had a huge brush hanging on their waist.
It wasn't a paint brush. Their tip was narrower and the handle was very long. They're the Invokers of Hexilia.
"Ugh! I hate going to gatherings like these." An Ivoker said.
"Can't be helped. We need the support of these entrepreneurs." Another Invoker shrugged.
Then the event began. The light was cut off. A man stood on top of the stage.
"Welcome, everyone. To my small humble party. We're here to discuss the birth of a new organization. A place where all the Invokers could call home.
We have only one singular purpose. That is to get rid of all the Terrors in the world!"
People cheered and applauded. Suddenly, an unfamiliar voice echoed through the hall.
"What's about the Eldritch Knight then?"
People turned to the direction of the voice. Sitting along in his bar was a young man in his twenties with an expensive suit that looked too good on him.
"And you are?" The host said.
"The name is Carter Caine. I came here because I heard that you people finally decided to put your forces together to deal with the Terror." Carter raised a glass and drank from it.
"That is correct. But what is this Eldritch Knight you're talking about?"
"Eldritch Knight is an ancient race of warriors. They're raised to use the power of the Terror against them. Each of them can take at least a few dozen Terrors." Carter said.
The room erupted in laughter.
"What is this nonsense?"
"Even an Invoker would be killed if they're cornered by four or five Terrors."
"Who let this crazy fool in?"
Carter shrugged. He put the glass down and walked toward the Invokers.
"If you're truly interested in dealing with the Terrors. Give me a call. I know an Eldritch Knight that can guide you."
Carter handed them a platinum car with gold embedded on it. One look and everyone knew that it wasn't cheap to make it.
"We have also never heard of an Eldritch Knight." One of the Invoker said.
Carter chuckled, "They're a rare species, yet. But there are still Eldritch Knights out there. You Invokers used to be their helpers."
The room erupted again. This time it was the Invokers.
"Nonsense! Invokers were never helpers of someone!"
"That's right. We are our own thing!"
"The relationship between Eldritch Knights and Invokers was severed a few thousand years ago. That is correct. But I can't believe that you don't even know they exist.
Go and check the records your ancestors left behind. They should be mentioned there."
The Invokers talked amongst themselves. Some didn't believe him. Some were shocked. The others stayed silent.
Carter got up and left the party. His scene was completed and it was time for him to get back to important matters.
Killing Terrors and collecting their shards.
Carter disappeared in the elevator. The entrepreneurs watched as he left.
"Who the hell is that guy?" Someone said, stating the question everyone was also asking themselves.

'Huh? Why did System Ghost's Synchronization go up?'
Carter didn't understand why it had happened. There should be no correlation with what he just did in the gathering. He kept this in the back of his mind to analyze later.
Carter left in the limousine with Clay. They returned to the old building that Carter bought.
"You can stay at my house, Clay. In case you can't get home before dark." Carter said.
"Don't worry, sir! You already know how fast I can drive." Clay tapped his chest.
"I certainly do." Carter laughed.
He went into the old building. Carter sat on the couch, watching as the sun slowly disappeared in the far horizon.
It wasn't even two o'clock and yet this world was already shifting to the night.
'Equip Eldritch Knight!'
[ELDRITCH KNIGHT EQUIPPED]
A dark cloud enveloped Carter. Once again, the white robe appeared. He had become Zeneros Blackburn.
"Let's hunt some Terrors."
The Prisoner materialized in his hand. He left the building.
When the sun disappeared, a certain pressure fell upon this land. Carter didn't notice the difference the first time. But now he did.
"There is something seriously wrong with this world."
He went out to the streets again. There were Terrors in every corner of the streets. Most were weak and would die within one strike. Some were more resilient and deadly but the best they could do was drawing a few more strikes from Carter.

He ruthlessly slayed Terrors until it was almost eight in the night.
"Hmmm… Why are there fewer Terrors than last night?" Carter asked himself.
He had to face the reality that his killing of the Terrors had caused a large decrease in their number.
"Well. I should only need around 80 more Terrors and that should be enough for me to reach full synchronization."
Suddenly, he heard noises coming from another street. Carter transformed into the Terror Bat and flew over there.
With his Sonar Echolocation, he detected a group of Invokers battling another group of Terrors.
