Chapter 1 - The Rainy Day Love

It was a quiet afternoon in a small town. The sky was grey, and soft rain was falling on the empty streets. Emily was walking home from school, holding her books close to her chest so they wouldn't get wet.

Emily was a kind and simple girl. She loved reading books and drawing pictures in her notebook. Most people in school knew her as the quiet girl who always smiled.

As she walked past the old bus stop, she saw someone sitting there. It was Daniel, a boy from her class. He was looking at the rain with a thoughtful face.

Emily stopped for a moment. She had spoken to Daniel only a few times before. He was friendly but a little shy.

"Hey," Emily said softly.

Daniel looked up and smiled. "Hi, Emily."

"You're still here? Didn't your bus come?" she asked.

Daniel shook his head. "I missed it. Now I have to wait for the next one."

Emily laughed a little. "That might take a long time."

They both stood under the small roof of the bus stop while the rain kept falling.

After a few minutes of silence, Daniel said, "You like drawing, right?"

Emily looked surprised. "Yes… how do you know?"

"I saw your sketch in the art class last week," Daniel said. "It was really beautiful."

Emily felt her cheeks grow warm. No one had ever complimented her drawings like that before.

"Thank you," she said shyly.

The rain started falling harder. The sound of raindrops filled the quiet street.

Daniel suddenly stood up. "Let's walk."

"In this rain?" Emily asked.

He smiled. "Why not? It's kind of fun."

Emily hesitated for a second, then nodded.

They began walking slowly down the street. The rain felt cool and fresh. Both of them laughed as they tried to avoid the puddles.

As they walked, they talked about many things—school, music, dreams, and their favorite movies.

Emily realized something surprising. Talking to Daniel felt easy and comfortable, like she had known him for years.

Daniel felt the same. He had always noticed Emily in class, but he never had the courage to talk to her.

After some time, they reached a small park. The rain had started to slow down.

They sat on a wooden bench under a big tree.

Daniel looked at Emily and said quietly, "You know… I'm really glad I missed my bus today."

Emily smiled. "Why?"

"Because if I hadn't, I wouldn't be here talking to you."

Emily looked at the wet grass and then back at Daniel.

Her heart felt warm and happy.

The rain finally stopped, and a soft golden sunlight appeared through the clouds.

Daniel stood up and said, "Can we do this again sometime?"

Emily smiled brightly.

"Yes… I'd like that."

From that rainy afternoon, their friendship slowly grew into something deeper. They spent more time together—walking home, sharing stories, and laughing at small things.

Sometimes, the most beautiful love stories begin in the simplest moments… like a rainy afternoon and a missed bus.

And for Emily and Daniel, that rainy day became the beginning of something unforgettable.
