The wind howled softly around the peaks of the Dragon Sanctuary as the last traces of the Shadow Legion disappeared into the clouds.
Silence slowly returned.
Broken stone and scorch marks covered the ground outside the sanctuary entrance. The air still carried the faint smell of burnt magic.
Kim Woo Bin stood still, staring at his hands.
They were trembling.
Not from fear.
But from the memory of power.
The blue energy he had released moments ago still lingered inside him like a storm that hadn't fully calmed.
"I almost lost control…" he whispered.
Behind him, the great silver dragon Astrael lowered his massive head.
"That is the nature of power you do not yet understand," Astrael said calmly. "It listens to your emotions before your thoughts."
Woo Bin clenched his fists.
"Then I need to control it."
"Yes," Astrael replied. "And you must learn quickly."
Woo Bin turned toward him.
"They'll come back, won't they?"
Astrael's golden eyes darkened slightly.
"The Shadow Legion never retreats without reason. They have seen your power now."
"And that makes me more dangerous?" Woo Bin asked.
"No," Astrael said.
"It makes you a greater target."
Astrael turned and began walking back into the sanctuary.
"Come," he said. "Your real training begins now."
Woo Bin followed, still feeling the weight of everything that had just happened.
Inside, the sanctuary seemed quieter than before, but also more alive—as if the ancient walls themselves were watching him.
They returned to the great arena deep within the mountain.
The glowing runes along the floor pulsed faintly, reacting to Woo Bin's presence.
Astrael stepped to the edge of the arena.
"Yesterday, you survived," the dragon said.
"Today, you begin to learn."
Woo Bin stepped onto the center platform again.
"This is where I train?"
"Yes."
Astrael's voice echoed through the chamber.
"You must understand one thing, Kim Woo Bin."
"What?"
"Dragon magic is not just power. It is will."
Woo Bin frowned slightly.
"I don't understand."
Astrael raised one massive claw.
"Then watch carefully."
Astrael closed his eyes.
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then suddenly—
The air began to vibrate.
Silver light gathered around Astrael's body, forming streams of glowing energy that flowed like rivers of light across his scales.
Woo Bin stepped back in shock.
"What is that?!"
"This is dragon magic," Astrael said.
The light around him grew brighter.
"It responds to control, focus, and purpose."
Astrael lifted his head.
A thin beam of silver fire shot forward, striking a distant stone pillar.
The pillar didn't explode.
Instead, it was cut cleanly in half.
Woo Bin's jaw dropped.
"That was so precise…"
Astrael opened his eyes.
"Power without control destroys everything."
The dragon looked directly at Woo Bin.
"Control without power achieves nothing."
Woo Bin nodded slowly.
"So I need both."
"Yes."
Astrael stepped back.
"Now it is your turn."
Woo Bin froze.
"Already?!"
Astrael's tone didn't change.
"You used power yesterday without understanding. Today, you will use it with intention."
Woo Bin took a deep breath and stood firmly on the platform.
"Tell me what to do."
Astrael nodded.
"Focus on your breathing."
Woo Bin closed his eyes.
"Inhale… slowly."
He took a deep breath.
"Now feel the energy inside you."
Woo Bin focused.
At first, nothing.
Then slowly…
He felt it.
A warm energy flowing through his chest, down his arms, into his hand.
"The dragon mark is your channel," Astrael said. "Guide the energy into it."
Woo Bin concentrated harder.
The mark on his palm began to glow faintly.
"Now release it… slowly."
Woo Bin opened his eyes and raised his hand.
Instead of forcing it out like before, he focused on control.
A small pulse of blue energy formed in his palm.
"Good," Astrael said.
"Now push it forward."
Woo Bin extended his hand.
The energy shot forward in a controlled wave, hitting the ground a few meters ahead.
It cracked the stone slightly.
Woo Bin stared at it.
"I did it… and I didn't lose control!"
A small smile appeared on Astrael's face.
"This technique is called Dragon Pulse."
Woo Bin grinned.
"My first real move."
As Woo Bin practiced again, something strange happened.
The runes on the walls suddenly flickered.
A faint sound echoed through the chamber.
Woo Bin stopped.
"Did you hear that?"
Astrael's head lifted slightly.
"Yes."
The air grew colder.
From deep within the sanctuary, a faint glow appeared in a hidden tunnel.
Woo Bin looked toward it.
"What is that?"
Astrael's expression turned serious.
"That… should not be active."
Woo Bin swallowed.
"Should we check it out?"
Astrael hesitated.
Then nodded.
"Stay close."
They moved slowly into the hidden tunnel.
The glow grew brighter with each step.
At the end of the tunnel, they entered a small chamber.
And there—
Someone was standing there.
A girl.
Woo Bin froze.
She looked about his age.
Her long hair shimmered like fire, glowing slightly in the dim light. Her eyes burned with a deep amber color.
She wore armor marked with flame-like symbols.
And in her hand… she held a sword made of fire.
She turned sharply toward them.
"Don't move!" she shouted.
Woo Bin raised his hands.
"Wait! I'm not your enemy!"
She narrowed her eyes.
"You're the Dragon Bearer."
Woo Bin blinked.
"How do you know that?"
She pointed her flaming sword at him.
"Because I was sent to find you."
Astrael stepped forward slightly.
"Who are you?"
The girl didn't lower her weapon.
"I am Arin of the Skyfire Kingdom."
Woo Bin looked surprised.
"The floating kingdom?"
"Yes," she said.
"And if the stories are true… you're the only one who can stop what's coming."
Woo Bin exchanged a glance with Astrael.
"What do you mean?"
Arin's expression became serious.
"The Dark King is no longer searching."
She tightened her grip on the sword.
"He has already begun the war."
Silence filled the chamber.
Woo Bin felt his heart sink.
"So it's already started…"
"Yes," Arin said.
"And if we don't act now…"
Her voice dropped.
"The first kingdom will fall."
Woo Bin slowly clenched his fist.
The dragon mark glowed again.
This time, it wasn't fear.
It was determination.
"Then we won't let that happen."
Astrael looked at both of them.
"The path ahead will only grow more dangerous."
Arin smirked slightly.
"Good."
Woo Bin looked at her, surprised.
"You're not scared?"
She shook her head.
"I was trained for this."
Woo Bin smiled faintly.
"Then I guess… we're on the same side."
Astrael spread his wings slightly.
"Then our journey expands."
Woo Bin looked between them.
A dragon.
A warrior from the sky.
And himself.
The Dragon Bearer.
For the first time, he realized—
He wasn't alone anymore.
But far away, beyond the clouds, inside a dark fortress, a pair of glowing red eyes opened slowly.
"The pieces are gathering…" a deep voice echoed.
"Good."
The Dark King smiled in the shadows.
"Let them come."
