Synopsis
Loving someone does not always have to be expressed in words. Love can exits simply through presence, through routines shared together, and through silences that are mutually understood. Not everything needs to be spoken. The public May enjoy drama, attention, and grand news. But for those who truly love each other, simply being together is enough no validation needed, no applause required. The years 1893 to 1936 stood as witnesses. They walked side by side, shaping their lives and their kingdom together, building a stability that few people truly knew about. Even when one of them left, the other remained guarding, ensuring, and protecting everything they had built. History May not tell much about that emotional side. But this is not about history, this is about two people who loved each other without needing the spotlight of the public. Strong, firm, and cold those were the images the world recognized. Yet in their humanity, they were simply two individuals who cared for one another, who understood each other, without any desire to stand out. Until finally, the time came when that chapter ended. Everything they had build was safe. The crown rested in the right hands, the duty was complete, and the key whether to responsibility or to the heart had been returned to its rightful owner. And this time, the beloved returned to the embrace that had been waiting for so long. Note: This story is inspired by real historical figures and events, including George V, Mary of Teck, and Albert Victor. However, many scenes, dialogues, and character emotions have been added for fictional purpose. Readers are expected to understand that some parts are the author's creation, not purely historical records.

Chapter 1 - 1953

"May, you never left too soon. You stayed as long as we still needed you. Now... go home."

The words came like a gentle whisper, as if all her duties had finally been fulfilled.

Shadows of the past slowly returned. Memories, smiles, and he days she once shared with the people she loved filled her mind. The stiffness that once made him nervous, the humor so familar... all of it came back.

"I have finished my duty," she whispered softly into the silence of the room.

"What we built together is safe now. I no longer need to protect anyone. There will be no abdication to shake this kingdom. That fragile child has completed his task and left this world... and now everything is peaceful."

The room was dim. The curtains were half drawn, allowing only a little of the night's light to enter. May lay in her bed, alone with her thoughts.

"He has been waiting for me," she continued quietly.

"And my children who went before me... they must miss me."

Here eyes looked toward the ceiling of the room, but she did not see the carvings above. She saw the face of a man. A man who had always been present in every one of her memories.

The voice seemed to whisper again patently, just like before...

"Come home, May... you duty is finished."

Mary closed her eyes.

And for the first time in a very long while, she hoped that everything would truly be alright.
