Chapter 46 - Chapter 44: The Vengeance

The air in the dimly lit hotel room was heavy with tension. A palpable weight that seemed to cling to Kanishk like a second skin. His eyes narrowed as he stared at Kashvi who sat on the edge of the bed. Her body language speaking volumes. She was a portrait of discomfort and her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her shirt as if it could offer her some solace from the storm brewing between them. "Why do you always look so tense, Kashvi?" Kanishk's voice dripped with mockery. The corners of his lips twitching into a smirk. "You know, if you didn't have all that lower belly fat maybe you'd feel lighter. Perhaps you should try apple cider vinegar. It worked wonders for my aunt." Kashvi's heart raced. Not from the ridiculousness of his comment but from the cold reality of their twisted relationship. "You think I haven't tried everything?" Her voice was barely above a whisper but there was an edge to it. "It's not about the weight Kanishk. It's about how you make me feel." "Feel?" He laughed. A harsh sound that echoed off the walls. "What do you mean? You should be grateful for what I give you. Most women would kill for a man like me." She looked away biting back tears. The pain was more than physical. It was emotional. A constant reminder of the forcefulness that had become their routine. Each encounter left her aching and no amount of painkillers seemed to dull the edge anymore. "This isn't love Kanishk. It's lust and we both know it." "Lust can be fun," he replied shrugging nonchalantly. "But if you're looking for romance maybe it's time to change your diet." The laughter in his voice cut deeper than any knife. Kashvi didn't respond but instead she turned her gaze to the window where the last rays of sunlight flickered like fading dreams. Meanwhile in the house Asmee flipped through the contents of a drawer in Kashvi's bedroom. Her brow furrowed in concentration.

Among the clutter her fingers brushed against a small strip of medication labelled 'Osphena.' She froze. The medicine reduces the pain of coitus. The implications hitting her with the force of a tidal wave. "What's this?" Rishit asked peering over her shoulder. His curiosity was a double-edged sword and Asmee felt her heart race. "It's nothing," she replied too quickly and hastily shoving the strip back into the drawer. But the damage was done. Rishit's eyes narrowed with suspicion etched across his face. "Nothing? Come on Mom. I overheard you talking about Kashvi and Kanishk. Is it really nothing?" Asmee sighed knowing she couldn't hide the truth. "It's complicated, Rishit. You don't understand." "Try me," he challenged crossing his arms. In the shadows of the living room Tushant listened intently. His mind racing with thoughts that were dark and twisted. He had been watching Kanishk observing the way he toyed with Kashvi's emotions. A plan began to form one that would serve as both revenge and release. "Enough of this nonsense," Tushant muttered under his breath. The words laced with venom. "If Kanishk thinks he can torment my family without consequence he's sorely mistaken." His heart pounded in rhythm with his thoughts. Each beat echoing a growing resolve. Torment a father and you will torment the son. Tushant envisioned a scenario where Kanishk would pay dearly for every cruel word and action. A reckoning that would shake the very foundation of their lives. "Mom you can't just sit here and let this happen," Rishit pressed. His voice rising. "We need to do something. We can't let him hurt her anymore." Asmee's eyes flickered with fear but Tushant's expression hardened. "I'll take care of it," he said. His voice low and dangerous. "You two just stay out of this."

"Take care of it? What does that even mean?" Rishit demanded but Tushant was already plotting. His mind racing with possibilities. The night deepened outside and with it came a chilling silence that enveloped the house. Kanishk's laughter echoed in Kashvi's ears a haunting melody that would not fade. She stood up. Her resolve hardening like steel. "I won't let you treat me like this anymore," she whispered to herself. Her determination igniting a fire within her. But little did she know Tushant was preparing to unleash a storm that would change everything. In his quest for vengeance he would blur the lines of right and wrong setting a chain of events into motion that none of them could foresee. The darkness of their lives would soon collide and when the dust settled and blood would be spilled.
