Chapter 4 - Warnings

A Wife For Hire: The Billionaire Contract Wife

 (Warnings)

 Chapter Four

Marilyn slowly left the floor. Her hands shook but she tried her hardest to act unbothered by the child's tears, and hurtful words. She was doing this for the money, and for the money alone. It was none of her business if her presence was met with hostility. Besides, it was a fake marriage.

"I hate it when you cry." Aaron Buckley bites, wiping her tears.

"I don't want another mother. I want mommy back. You told me we are perfect together, you said nothing is going to change, and one day we are going to meet mom. Why have you changed your promises? I don't want a new mommy, I want my mother!" She stomped her feet against the floor.

"I didn't change. Yes I admit I said all that and more but daddy has to do what's best for us. Marilyn is a great person, she's kind, loving, and will always take care of you, and Piper. In future you'll understand the sacrifices but right now be a good girl, and stop crying."

"I'll never accept her as my mommy. She's an imposter!" Paige breaks off to run, her eyes red from too much crying. Piper silently watched, started crying and ran out to be with her.

"I'm sorry Mr. Aaron I hate to say this but she's right. Why involve someone else when you are doing a great job. There's a plethora of maids, servants, drivers, cooks and everything. You have everything at the tip of your fingers. They lack nothing. Including someone else to the mix won't be easy. She's right, and I'm ashamed as an adult. I didn't think through my decision thoroughly to accept this offer." She licked her bottom lip, and breathed out a sigh and turned on her heels to leave.

"Where are you going?" He stopped her.

"To pack my things. I have to go.." she blurts in a whisper.

"Stop there." His fingers moved to his hair. "I know Paige's words are true but I'm her father, and I know what's best for her."

"How can you say this? This is selfish. Your little girl is hurting, broken hearted, and feels alone. I'm ashamed I signed the contract quickly without thinking. I share in this but I won't stay any further. I'm leaving."

"And it's none of your business Marilyn Edwards. Paige, and Piper are my children. My decision it's for their benefit. Remember you have nowhere else to go, no money in your bank account, and barely a dollar $ in cash. Mind your business and do what you're asked to do. Don't interfere."

"Something tells me there's a lot you're hiding. And it's not the need for a mother for the children. The children don't need anyone. You need me for something…"

"And what's wrong with having an agenda? What's wrong with it? You need money, and I need a wife!" He retorted harshly, making her jump back a little.

"To hell with your contract!" She could barely make it to the door knob, and felt an icy cold arm jolt her away.

He tugged her arm so quickly she lost footing, and slipped almost hitting the floor. Her eyes shut tight quickly bracing for impact. A strong arm hauled her over his shoulders, marching back to the table on one hand, scooped some meals into the plate, and marched out of the dinning.

"Stop moving." He warned. One large shove he pushed the room door open, slammed her to the bed, and stared down at her arms akimbo.

"What's that for?" She yelled breathlessly fighting out of bed to her feet.

His height towered over her. "One you signed the contract. Two, any attempt to go back on the contract warrants a huge fine worth about a billion, and third you get a 20 years sentence to prison."

"It can't be…true…I…read every line before signing." Her lips shook. What if he was right?

In a hurry she omitted reading the back page, and proudly signed everything at once. One hundred million dollars was too good to be true, her fingers signed before her brains took effect.

He smirked in her face, "Are you sure about that Miss or would I say Mrs Marilyn Buckley?"

"It's not fair! You deceived me into a contract where you held the most power. I don't want this anymore, I want my freedom."

He smiled in her face, the kind of smile that left her inside reeling in fear. "Everything is fair in love, and war." He retorts his teeth grinding in his jaw.

"Let this be the first rule you take effectively. Don't interfere between my children and I. I don't care about your opinions or self righteousness. Play your part and get paid as stated and don't interfere. It's the last warning, but if you dare to make it more harder than it should then I'll be forced to finally…" he stops the phone rings in his pockets. He picks the call and places it to his hearing. He listens to the caller, and silently nods and turns off the call.

"Eat some food, and go to bed!" He ordered marching out harshly; he threw the door open and left it ajar.

 **********

Her first night at the Buckley's mansion didn't go as planned. The children her aim for the contract hated her. They didn't want anyone infiltrating their trio which was understandable as the little kids lost their mother, and anyone vying for that position would be considered a contender.

Marilyn turned in her sleep for the twelfth time. Sleep eroded her. Her mind lost in thoughts, sketchy pieces of information she could find on the internet. She fully settled using her old laptop, and barely had any information on Aaron's wife or the cause of her demise. The tabloid speculation came from fans, and various anonymous sources.

"Silly." She muttered slamming the laptop as she made her way out of bed to the window. Her eyes peek through the window outside the bright illumination, the large mansion shone brightly. She stood erect soaking up the peace and quiet environment and then her ears caught an almost faint but warm sound of a piano playing from a distance.

It sounded beautiful to her ears. The most beautiful sound she heared, and it came from the left wing of the mansion. Captivated by the soft, soulful and magically sound Marilyn couldn't stop her legs from leading her away from her bedroom, towards the left wing. The maddening urge to find it and experience the magic firsthand came upon her strongly; she slammed the room door in haste, and made it to the left wing. She passed too many corridors, left the right wing and made it into the left territory. Her hands trembled as she reached the door. She swallowed hard, mustered some courage, and twisted the door knob.

 "Stop!"

A large wail stopped her in time.

She turned around, and her breath halted.
