Ruaan couldn't tell if the mute was mocking him... No, wait, unmute the man in front of him. But he was sure that he was hiding something. Something he couldn't tell.
He clenched his fist and bit his lower lip as he locked eyes with the man. The man's eyes never left his until Oren stepped between them.
"Ruaan, he doesn't know about Harolin. We should leave," he said.
But Ruaan shoved his head to the side as he peeked at the man.
"You know something about it, don't you? You are just not willing to say anything."
"The last thing I'd want is for you to get in trouble. Harolin is not here to protect you anymore, and you have just me to lean on," Oren reminded him.
Ruaan swallowed the emptiness down his throat as he exhaled deeply. He shut his eyes and looked away from the man.
"I hope I'm wrong," he said and turned to leave.
Oren was following him behind when the man spoke again.
