Sami's heart pounded wildly as the shadows closed in around him.
The dark creatures moved slowly, but there were many of them now. Their glowing eyes surrounded him from every direction.
Behind him, the mysterious door continued to close.
"No… no… no!" Sami shouted in panic.
If the door closed completely, he would be trapped in this nightmare world forever.
One of the creatures suddenly moved faster.
Its long arm stretched toward Sami.
He jumped back just in time.
Without thinking, Sami picked up a sharp stone from the ground and threw it at the creature.
The stone passed straight through its smoky body.
It had no effect.
"That didn't work!" he gasped.
The creatures were getting closer.
Step by step.
Slow.
Silent.
Terrifying.
Sami looked again at the door.
It was almost closed.
Desperation filled his mind.
He gathered all his strength and ran forward with everything he had.
The shadows tried to block him.
But fear gave him speed.
He slipped between two creatures and jumped toward the door.
Just as the door was about to close…
Sami dived through it.
The moment he crossed back to his world, the door slammed shut behind him with a deep echo.
Sami collapsed onto the cold forest ground, breathing heavily.
For a long moment, he didn't move.
Then he slowly looked up.
The door was gone.
But one thought remained in his mind.
The door would return..
