Chapter 1 - LIFE OF STUDENT

Class 10 was not just another year in school. For many students, it was the year that felt different from all the others. It was the year everyone talked about — teachers, parents, relatives, even neighbors. Everywhere I went, people reminded me about one thing: "This is your board exam year."

When the new academic session started, I walked into my classroom with mixed feelings. I was excited to see my friends again, but somewhere deep inside, I also felt nervous. Class 10 had a reputation. Everyone said it was difficult, stressful, and extremely important.

The classroom looked the same as before — the green board, the wooden benches, the windows that let in warm sunlight during the morning classes. But somehow, everything felt different. Maybe it was because we all knew this year would test us in ways we had never experienced before.

Our class teacher entered the room with a serious expression. She greeted us and then started talking about the importance of Class 10.

"Students," she said, "this year will decide many things for your future. You must study seriously and manage your time wisely."

Everyone suddenly became quiet. The usual laughter and chatter disappeared. For the first time, we realized that this year was not like the others.

But even with all that seriousness, school life was still school life. Friends still laughed, shared jokes, and created unforgettable memories.

The Friends Who Made Everything Special

One of the best parts of Class 10 was spending time with friends. They were the people who made even the most stressful days feel easier.

Every morning before the first bell rang, our group would gather near the classroom door. Some of us talked about homework, while others discussed cricket matches, video games, or movies.

Sometimes we helped each other with studies.

"Did you finish the math homework?" someone would ask.

"Not really," another friend would reply with a nervous laugh.

Then someone else would quickly explain the solution before the teacher arrived.

During lunch break, our classroom turned into a completely different place. The serious atmosphere disappeared, and everyone relaxed. Lunch boxes opened, and the smell of different foods filled the room.

Some friends shared homemade food, while others exchanged snacks.

Those moments were simple but special. Looking back now, those lunch breaks were some of the happiest parts of school life.

The Subjects That Tested Our Patience

Class 10 had many subjects, and each one came with its own challenges.

Mathematics was the subject that most students feared. Algebra, trigonometry, geometry — the problems sometimes looked impossible at first.

Many evenings were spent solving math problems again and again. Sometimes the answers came easily, but other times they required patience and determination.

Science was another important subject. Physics, chemistry, and biology introduced many new concepts.

Physics made us think about motion, force, and electricity.

Chemistry taught us about chemical reactions and elements.

Biology explained the amazing systems inside the human body.

Even though these subjects were difficult, they were also interesting. They made us curious about the world around us.

English classes were a little more relaxed. We read stories, poems, and essays that sometimes made us think deeply about life.

Social science took us through history, geography, economics, and political science. It helped us understand how the world works and how societies develop.

Every subject had its own importance, and slowly we started realizing that learning was not just about exams — it was about understanding life.

The Teachers Who Guided Us

Teachers played a very important role during Class 10.

Some teachers were strict, while others were friendly and supportive. But all of them wanted us to succeed.

Our mathematics teacher was known for giving lots of homework. At first, many students complained about it. But later we realized that the practice helped us improve our problem-solving skills.

The science teacher often explained concepts with real-life examples. This made learning more interesting and easier to understand.

Sometimes teachers shared their own school experiences. They told us about their struggles and how hard work helped them achieve their goals.

Those stories inspired us and reminded us that success requires effort.

The Pressure of Expectations

As the months passed, the pressure slowly increased.

Parents began asking more questions about studies.

"How many chapters have you finished?"

"Are you preparing well for the exams?"

Even relatives sometimes asked about board exam preparation.

At first, this felt stressful. But later, we realized that these expectations came from a place of care. Everyone wanted us to do well.

Still, managing studies along with personal life was not always easy.

Some days felt overwhelming. Homework, assignments, and tests seemed endless.

But we learned something important during this time: time management.

By creating study schedules and focusing on important topics, we slowly started balancing everything.

The Small Moments That Became Big Memories

Even though Class 10 was full of studies, it was also filled with unforgettable memories.

Sometimes the teacher arrived late, and the entire class became noisy with laughter and conversations.

Other times, someone cracked a joke that made the whole class laugh.

There were also moments when the electricity went out during class, and we enjoyed the cool breeze coming through the windows.

School trips, annual functions, and sports days added excitement to the year.

These moments reminded us that school life was not only about studying — it was also about friendship, fun, and experiences.

The Realization

One day, while sitting in the classroom, I looked around at my classmates.

We had been studying together for many years. We had shared notebooks, jokes, and secrets.

But suddenly I realized something: after Class 10, many things would change.

Some friends might move to different schools. Others might choose different streams like science, commerce, or arts.

This thought made me appreciate our time together even more.

Class 10 was not just about exams.

It was about growing up, learning responsibility, and creating memories that would last forever.
