Chapter 83 - Chapter 84 Can You Catch the Light?

"Father…"

"Father didn't say there were monsters like this here!!"

"It's too noisy."

Leon slowly turned around.

His face showed clear displeasure.

He scrutinized the fellow in front of him from head to toe.

"I guess you're Blackheart?" Leon's tone was as if he had seen something repulsive.

"Who exactly are you?!" Blackheart discovered in terror that he couldn't even open a spatial channel to escape back to the Hell Dimension.

This sunlight had locked down this space!

"Who I am isn't important."

Leon slowly walked towards him. With each step, the divine light on him grew stronger, and Blackheart's vaporization speed quickened.

"What's important is that you disturbed me."

Leon walked in front of Blackheart, who by now had been purified into nothing but a black-smoking outline.

"Your father, Mephisto…" Leon's tone held a hint of regret.

"Last time he came, at least he knew to put on a suit first, chat a bit, and discuss terms."

"But you… you just barged in like this."

He shook his head, his gaze calm.

"You don't even understand the most basic manners."

"You can't kill me! My father is…"

"I know, the Hell Lord." Leon interrupted him, his smile unchanged.

"He said the same thing when he came last time. Then, I sent him back."

"And you…"

Leon's tone suddenly turned cold.

"Your threat is like a child whining. And…"

"You're even more impolite than him."

"So, you don't need to go back."

Leon extended a finger, and a wisp of flame slowly ignited on its tip.

He flicked his finger.

That tiny wisp of flame floated lightly onto Blackheart's afterimage.

"No!!!"

Blackheart's scream abruptly ceased.

The flame erupted with light the moment it touched his remnant soul.

Light annihilated everything.

The once arrogant Prince of Hell couldn't last a second before the light.

Then, he was purified completely.

As if he had never appeared.

"Om…"

Leon withdrew his finger, and the domain in the room slowly dissipated.

Everything returned to tranquility.

"Tsk."

Leon clicked his tongue, seeming somewhat displeased.

"Even a clone talks so much nonsense. It really ruined the mood for wine tasting."

"However, this does remind me."

"The bait of Chaos magic is too tempting. Even a small fish of Blackheart's caliber came sniffing."

"It seems there's more fun to be had."

Leon looked up at the ceiling, his gaze seemingly penetrating the floor to fall upon the two people trembling from the earlier pressure.

"Jarvis."

"Sir. I'm here." Jarvis responded quickly.

"Make a note."

Leon instructed calmly.

"Add a 'Dimensional Pest Control Fee' to the Villa's daily expenses."

"Then, send the bill to Tony."

Jarvis was silent for two seconds.

"Sir, if I may be frank, this fee exceeds the scope of property insurance and personal safety compensation purchased by Mr. Stark."

"Then tell him to upgrade his insurance."

Leon waved his hand, turning to face the sea illuminated by his light.

"Tell him that Wanda and the others are very sought after right now. If he doesn't want them to be snatched away by some random demon from hell, he'd best upgrade the security system to the highest level."

"Understood, Sir. I will relay your message."

Night returned to quiet.

But tonight, the moonlight at the Villa seemed exceptionally bright… The siblings changed into casual clothes prepared by Jarvis and walked cautiously onto the sea-view terrace in the morning light.

The sea breeze was slightly salty, carrying a hint of coolness.

Leon was already sitting there.

He sat on a white wicker chair with his back to them, leisurely sipping a cup of coffee.

He wore a simple shirt and trousers, his golden hair draped casually over his shoulders. The morning light cast a sacred halo around him.

He didn't turn around, seemingly already aware of their arrival.

He was perfectly integrated with the World.

He was the center of this beautiful scenery.

Pietro stopped.

He looked at Leon. He wanted to roar, to question, to tear everything in front of him to shreds.

But the terror of last night made it difficult for him to even muster the courage to speak.

"He's a devil…" Pietro took a deep breath.

"Did you sleep well?"

Leon spoke, his tone gentle.

But he didn't turn around.

But Pietro felt this was sarcasm.

He knows we couldn't sleep! He's mocking us!

"What exactly do you want?!" Pietro asked, suppressing his voice.

"To lock us up here! To humiliate us! Is this what you call the actions of a god?!"

Wanda was startled by her brother's outburst. She nervously clutched Pietro's arm: "Brother! Don't…"

She was very scared.

But her fear was mixed with awe for Leon.

She had truly felt that power last night.

"Haha…"

Leon let out a soft chuckle.

He finally slowly turned his chair to face them.

"Humiliation?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Pietro, you seem to have misunderstood."

"If I wanted to humiliate you, I wouldn't have needed to bring you here. I would have just left you in Sokovia and told HYDRA where you were."

Pietro said nothing.

"Last night…" Leon's smile slowly faded.

"Was just an enrollment registration."

He stood up and slowly walked in front of Pietro.

His height of 198cm was only a head taller than Pietro, but Pietro felt immense pressure.

An aura of majesty washed over him.

"And today…" Leon's voice became steady.

"The awakening truly begins."

Leon smiled slightly. He dismissed Pietro's anger as mere childish tantrums.

However, primal anger was a good catalyst for awakening his abilities, but it wasn't enough.

First, he had to face reality.

"You." Leon turned to Pietro, his chin slightly raised.

"You think you're fast, right?"

Pietro was taken aback.

He didn't know what Leon meant.

He was just a young man from Sokovia who ran faster than average.

"I don't know what you're talking about!" Pietro gritted his teeth, shielding Wanda behind him.

"Don't try any tricks!"

"Is that so?" Leon smiled.

He couldn't be bothered to argue.

He pointed into the distance, to a rock jutting out of the sea at the end of the beach.

"Very good." Leon continued.

"See that rock?"

"Now, run."

"From here, run to that rock and back."

He picked up the cup of coffee from the table and gently blew on the steam.

"If you can return before I finish this cup of coffee…"

He smiled gently: "I will allow you to ask me one question."

Pietro's face instantly flushed red.

He's looking down on me! No, he's toying with me!

Two kilometers there, four kilometers round trip! He'll finish a cup of coffee?!

Who does he think I am?! Captain America?! This bastard!!

"You lunatic! You know I can't do that!"

"Oh?" Leon's smile became more playful.

"You can't do it?"

He slowly stepped forward, gazing calmly at Pietro.

"Of course you can't."

"Because you're too weak."

Leon reached out and, before Pietro could react, pressed his hand firmly on his shoulder.

The movement was very light.

But Pietro felt an immense force pressing down on him!

"Ah!!"

Pietro felt a scorching energy surge into his body from Leon's palm!

This wasn't pressure; this was infusion!

"Your anger is just an impotent roar." Leon's whisper echoed through Pietro's soul.

"A storm clearly slumbers within your body, yet you only use brute force."

Whether it was the High Evolutionary's experiments or the Mind Stone's bestowal… in this merged Universe, this power was their innate talent.

It was just locked away.

"And I, Leon Odinson, the Sun god of Asgard…"

Golden light burst forth from Leon's eyes.

"I am that key!"

"Boom!!!!!"

Pietro felt a certain power awaken within his body!

Then, the World disappeared.

No… it didn't disappear.

It stood still!

He could see the waves frozen in mid-air, the seagull's flapping wings paused at the moment of upward stroke, and Wanda's terrified expression.

Then, he saw Leon.

Leon smiled and released his hand.

"Now." Leon's voice entered his super-speed perception.

"Your dormant power."

"I have awakened it."

"Try again."

Pietro looked down at his hands.

A violent power erupted from his body!

He had no time to think.

His body moved instinctively!

"Boom!!!"

Wanda's eyes blurred!

Pietro disappeared!

No!

A White afterimage appeared on the reef two kilometers away!

"Bang!"

A corner of the reef was heavily shattered by his foot, sending Water splashing everywhere!

Then… "Boom!!!"

Another afterimage!

Pietro was back!

He stood exactly where Leon had been, having carved two charred marks on the floor due to immense inertia.

"Ha… ha… ha…"

Pietro leaned on his knees, gasping for breath, his face bewildered.

He looked at his hands, then at the distant, still collapsing reef.

"What did I do?"

"Was that me?!"

He quickly looked up at Leon.

The other man still stood in his original spot, as if he had never moved.

He held the coffee in his hand, seemingly unsurprised.

Leon glanced at Pietro and smiled softly.

"One round trip. Barely adequate."

Leon shook his head.

"But still too slow, Pietro."

"Rumble!!"

Pietro was dumbfounded.

"Slow?" he croaked.

"That's impossible! I already… I already…"

"You're already very fast, right?" Leon smiled, stepping forward slowly.

"But your speed is merely human-level movement."

Leon looked down at him, his gaze arrogant.

"You merely scramble through."

"And I…"

Blinding golden light emanated from Leon's body.

"I am Light."

"Can you catch up to Light?"
