Rishikesh stood in the old room, holding the mysterious book in his hands. His heart was beating fast. The rain outside was still falling heavily.
"Did this really happen because of the book?" Rishikesh whispered to himself.
He opened the book again and stared at the sentence written on the first page.
"Whatever is written in this book will come true… but every wish has a price."
Rishikesh felt both excited and nervous. Part of him wanted to test the book again.
He picked up the pencil slowly.
"This might just be a coincidence," he thought.
After thinking for a moment, Rishikesh wrote another line in the book:
"Tomorrow I will become stronger than anyone in my village."
After writing it, he quickly closed the book.
The next morning, Rishikesh woke up feeling strange. His body felt lighter and full of energy.
He stepped outside and helped his father lift a heavy sack of grain. Normally, it took two people to lift it.
But this time, Rishikesh lifted it easily.
His father looked at him in surprise.
"Since when did you become this strong?" his father asked.
Rishikesh didn't know what to say. Inside his mind, he already knew the answer.
Later that day, Rishikesh went back to the old room and opened the mysterious book again.
But something was different this time.
A new sentence had appeared on the page.
"Every wish has a price. Your price will soon be collected."
A cold feeling ran through Rishikesh's body.
"What price?" he whispered.
Suddenly, a strong wind blew through the room and the door slammed shut behind him.
The room became silent.
Rishikesh slowly turned around.
For the first time, he realized something terrifying…
The book was not just granting wishes.
It was watching him.
