Beside him, Gauche Adlai formed a sturdy stone bow.

Using the flaming spear as an arrow, Gauche took aim.
"Asta, an attack is coming!"
Sensing the incoming strike, Asta drew his Demon-Slayer Sword and swung.
The blazing projectile was instantly cut apart.

He withdrew from the forest to regroup.
On the high platform, Augustus Kira Clover XIII twirled his mustache.

Asta and Mimosa advanced through the forest and approached the enemy's magic crystal.
Mimosa's eyes sparkled.

A brilliant golden beam fired forward.
Gauche immediately responded.

What a strong attack. This girl is impressive.
"That's awesome, Mimosa. You've already learned such strong offensive magic," Asta said as he rushed forward.

Gauche and his teammates moved into formation, surrounding Mimosa as three powerful spells gathered.

Three magic circles suddenly appeared.
The incoming spells were absorbed and reflected back with twice the power.
"What is this?"
Their own attacks slammed into them.
Gauche and his teammates collapsed instantly.
"That was a good nap. I'm surprised your crystal is still intact. As expected from a team with a Senior Magic Knight."
The red-haired masked man stepped forward and placed his foot on Gauche.
"You worked hard to protect it, so I won't break your crystal."
Gauche relaxed slightly.
"Just kidding. I lied."
A burst of mana struck the crystal.
Under Gauche's despairing gaze, it shattered.
Trap Magic. A long-prepared spell.
Mimosa immediately understood.
He used us as bait from the beginning.
She quickly used healing magic to remove the poison from Asta.
Asta stood up and glared.
"Why did you do that?"
"We won. Isn't that what matters? If you can't stay aware of your surroundings, you deserve to lose. Our teamwork was better, that's all."
"Teamwork? You call this teamwork?"
"Of course. Try to be better bait next time. It was a pleasure working with you."
On the platform, Augustus nodded in satisfaction.
This man is worth paying attention to.
"Second match: Group C versus Group D. Prepare yourselves."
"Asta, move aside. It's our turn."
Three members of Group C stepped forward.
"How tragic. Why is this world filled with such ugliness when I alone was born perfect?"
A sparkling man appeared.
Asta stared at him.
"What the hell are you talking about? You keep rambling, it's disgusting," Magna Swing snapped.
"Does my beauty wound you? Do not be sad, ugly man. I understand your jealousy."
"Who are you calling ugly, you bastard?"
"So gross. A narcissist like you is unbearable. In this world, only Big Sister is the most beautiful," Sol said coldly.
The man gently grabbed her hand.
"A lady should not speak so harshly. It does not suit your lovely figure."
Sol froze, her body covered in goosebumps as she immediately pulled away.
"Oh, Mimosa, my dear sister. Have you come to admire my beauty as well?"
"You're disgusting. I hope you lose. If you somehow win, Asta and I will beat you down in the next match," Mimosa snapped.
"Mimosa, is that your brother?" Asta asked.
"I don't have a brother that embarrassing."
"So you are Asta. A magicless peasant. Stay away from me. Your existence lacks beauty."
On the platform, Yuno frowned.
"Who is that glitter-covered guy?"
"That's Mimosa's brother. In short, he's incredibly annoying," Noelle said flatly.
Klaus Lunettes adjusted his glasses.
"That is hardly an introduction. He is the Vice Captain of the Coral Peacocks. Since the captain is rarely active, he essentially runs the squad himself."
"Do you think he's annoying?" Noelle asked.
Klaus nodded without hesitation.
The battle began.
Magna spotted an enemy and charged forward, swinging his bat.

More than a dozen red wolves lunged forward.
Magna swung wildly, barely holding them back.
"Such messy fighting. Completely lacking in beauty. Even though you can fight at both long and close range, your mana must be suffering."
The narcissistic vice captain appeared behind him.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Magna snapped.
"Observe your enemy properly."
With that, he vanished, leaving behind drifting petals.
The enemy's movements...
Magna steadied himself.
I see it now.
Take care of what's in front of me first, then finish the rest.
With clarity in his mind, Magna turned the fight around completely.
"I have to win and become a Royal Knight. I need to make Big Sister proud."
Sol stood atop a clay golem.
