Lucy-23 year old, business woman
"Lucy's pov"
The city lights sparkled like tiny stars beneath the dark evening sky. In the center of the city stood a massive mansion surrounded by tall gates and quiet gardens. Inside that mansion lived Lucy Hartwell, one of the richest young women in the country.
Lucy had everything people could dream of. Expensive cars lined the driveway, priceless paintings decorated the walls, and a staff of workers made sure she never had to worry about anything. Her family's business empire was known all over the world.
But tonight, like many nights before, Lucy stood alone on the balcony of her room.
She looked down at the city below. Thousands of people were walking, laughing, and living their lives. The sound of distant traffic and music floated through the air.
Yet somehow, Lucy felt completely alone.
She rested her hands on the cold marble railing and sighed softly.
"Everyone thinks I'm lucky," she whispered to herself.
At twenty-two years old, Lucy had already inherited a huge part of her family's fortune after her parents died in a tragic accident years ago. Since then, the mansion had felt bigger and quieter than ever.
Money could buy comfort.
Money could buy luxury.
But money could not buy happiness.
Lucy turned away from the balcony and walked back into her enormous room. The golden lights reflected softly off the polished floor. On her desk were invitations to parties, business meetings, and charity events.
Her assistant had already organized everything for the next week.
Lucy picked up one of the invitations and read it.
"A charity gala tomorrow night…" she murmured.
She placed the card back down and sat on the edge of her bed. These events were always the same—rich people talking about money, success, and power. Smiles that didn't feel real. Conversations that felt empty.
Lucy lay back on the bed and stared at the ceiling.
"What's the point of all this?" she wondered quietly.
Outside, the wind rustled the trees in the garden.
Lucy had everything the world admired—beauty, wealth, and influence.
But deep in her heart, she wanted something she had never truly experienced.
Adventure.
Purpose.
A life that felt real.
She didn't know it yet, but very soon her quiet and predictable world was about to change.
And the change would begin with a man she had never met before.
A man named Jackson.
