The night was unusually quiet. A cold wind moved slowly through the trees, making the leaves whisper like they were sharing a secret.
Arjun walked along the narrow path near the forest beside his village. Most people avoided this place after sunset. The villagers always said the forest was cursed. Strange things had happened there for years, and many believed something dark lived deep inside it.
But Arjun never believed those stories.
He held a small torch in his hand and stepped closer to the edge of the forest. The trees looked taller than usual, their shadows stretching across the ground like long fingers.
"It's just a forest," he whispered to himself.
Still, something about the place felt strange tonight.
As he walked deeper, the path slowly disappeared beneath fallen leaves. The sound of crickets faded, and the forest became silent.
Too silent.
Suddenly, his foot hit something hard hidden under the leaves.
Ah!
He nearly lost his balance.
Curious, Arjun bent down and brushed the dry leaves aside. Beneath them was an old wooden box. The box looked ancient, its surface covered with dust and strange carvings.
"Who would leave this here?" he murmured.
His heart began to beat faster.
Slowly, he opened the box.
Inside, he found two things.
A rusted key… and a folded piece of paper.
Arjun carefully unfolded the paper. It was a map.
The paper looked very old, almost fragile. Strange symbols were drawn across it, and a path was marked with a red line leading deep into the forest.
At the end of the path, there was a red circle.
Something was written at the bottom of the map in faded ink.
Arjun brought the torch closer to read it.
His face slowly turned serious.
The words were simple, but chilling.
Once you follow this path, there is no turning back.
For a moment, Arjun stood there without moving.
A cold wind suddenly passed through the trees.
The leaves rustled loudly, as if the forest itself had heard the warning.
Any normal person would have thrown the map away and run back home.
But Arjun wasn't normal.
Curiosity burned inside him like fire.
"What could be hidden there?" he whispered.
He looked again at the red circle on the map.
Something important was waiting deep inside that forest.
And somehow, Arjun felt like the map had chosen him.
Slowly, he folded the map and placed it in his pocket.
The rusted key felt cold in his hand.
He looked into the dark forest ahead.
A small smile appeared on his face.
This might be the greatest adventure of my life.
Without knowing the danger waiting for him, Arjun stepped deeper into the forest.
Behind him, the wind blew stronger.
And somewhere in the darkness…
something was watching.
