Rupa shut the door and placed the diary on the table. The moment she touched it, a freezing sensation spread through her fingers.
She turned the pages.
Page after page, only one sentence repeated—
"They always return."
Then her eyes froze on one page.
Written boldly—
"Rupa Das."
Her full name.
A name no one knew except official records.
Her hands trembled.
Her phone rang.
Incoming call: Sajib
— "Sajib… my name is in the diary!"
— "Stay calm. There's a name in mine too."
— "Whose?"
— "…My mother's."
Rupa collapsed onto a chair.
— "This diary is not new," Sajib said quietly.
