Chapter 8 - They are all different

On January 17th, the Ajax II bus arrived in Emmen in two hours.

Along the way, Sean was either enjoying the scenery outside the car or studying the system.

Consuming 10 Bond Points allows one to draw a general player trait from the team.

Consuming 100 Bond Points allows one to draw a general star player trait from the team.

Consuming 1000 Bond Points allows one to draw a top-tier star player trait from the team.

Consuming 10000 Bond Points allows one to draw a superstar player trait from the team.

Consuming 100000 Bond Points allows one to draw a legendary player trait from the team.

The system clearly categorizes player levels.

However, Emmen is a team that has never been promoted to the Eredivisie, and even if they are currently at the top of the Eerste Divisie, it doesn't mean much.

It's estimated that they don't even have general star players, so only general players can be drawn.

Are there any traits suitable for him among general players?

He doesn't know.

The top priority now is to gain Bond Points.

Scoring against them should establish a bond, right?

Currently, his ball sense integration with Hazard has reached 93%, and other aspects have also made significant progress.

Coupled with his own conditions, his theoretical strength might not be weaker than Hazard's.

It's just an Eerste Divisie match; scoring on his debut shouldn't be too difficult, right?

Haha~

He's really looking forward to it!

.....

...Although it was his professional debut, Sean's previous self had played enough matches since childhood, including many away games, so he could barely be considered experienced. The pre-match warm-up proceeded in an orderly fashion.

Time flew by to the evening. The players finished their pre-match warm-up and walked in twos and threes to the locker room, ready to listen to the head coach's final instructions.

Fischer leaned over to Sean and whispered, "You're about to go on the field. Your legs aren't getting weak now, are they?"

Hmm?

Sean glanced at Fischer, then looked up, surveying the surrounding stands.

The 8600 seats at the Graafschap Stadium were already packed.

He had to admit, matches with hundreds or thousands of spectators were common, but Sean had never experienced a scene with tens of thousands of people watching.

But, would this make his legs weak?

"Haha, I can't wait to show them how good I am!" Sean's face was full of smiles.

Fischer pouted, "You're just being stubborn!"

"Haha~"

Sean didn't say anything more, chuckling and quickening his pace.

Fischer stomped his foot hard, "A Chinese player starting on his debut? The coach will definitely regret it!"

...At 7 PM, the match officially began, broadcast live on NPO3 TV.

Although it was just an Eerste Divisie match, the commentator was still full of enthusiasm:

"With the referee's whistle, the match officially kicks off."

"The home team Emmen kicks off first, sending the ball to the front. Ajax II's forward, Sean Li, only made a symbolic interception, which had no effect."

"Records show this is Sean's first professional match. Wow~ I understand Ajax has always put a lot of effort into developing young players, but is it a bit too much to let a Chinese player make his debut in a match against the league leaders?"

"Does Ajax really not care about the performance of Ajax II? Emmen players' potential might not be very high, but they are all experienced and capable players. Ajax's rookies might have unlimited potential, but they can't compare to them right now!"

"If they lose again, they will fall into the relegation zone."

"The growth of young players requires a large number of high-quality, high-intensity matches. If they are relegated to the third division, their standard of developing young players will be greatly affected, right?"

"Oh~ Ajax II successfully intercepted Emmen's pass and launched a counterattack..."

...Sean dropped back to receive the ball, and as the team pushed forward, he turned and surged ahead.

Ajax II's advance was very smooth. De Sa successfully gained possession on the right flank in the attacking third.

Sean charged straight into the penalty area, successfully pushing Emmen's defensive line near the six-yard box.

"This is good. There's a lot of open space at the top of the box. De Sa just needs to pass it across..."

Before Sean could finish his thought, he saw De Sa make a pass, but it wasn't a cross; it was a diagonal through ball!

Instinctively, Sean exerted force with his feet, suddenly darting horizontally towards the right flank.

Sure enough~

Man and ball arrived simultaneously!

But~

Emmen's center-back, Almeida, also followed, and he was about to be in position. Sean had no time or space to adjust!

So~

Sean shot directly with his right foot without stopping the ball, twisting his body!

"Bang~"

The ball zipped low, heading straight for the bottom left corner of the goal.

Emmen's goalkeeper couldn't save it, and the ball went smoothly into the net, hugging the left post!

Boom~

As soon as Sean stood firm, his mind was buzzing~

Although he had anticipated it, when the expectation truly became reality, everything was different!

Ecstasy instantly surged into his chest. Sean turned and ran straight towards Van der Gaag on the sidelines.

A player's skill, no matter how great, still needs a coach who appreciates him to have a chance to perform.

Was Baggio strong?

He was the best player during the Serie A 'mini World Cup' era, but if he met a coach who didn't like him, wasn't he still stuck on the bench?

Van der Gaag not only admired Sean but also gave him an exceptional opportunity.

Of course, Sean had to thank him properly!

Van der Gaag was waving his fists in celebration, and when he saw Sean rushing towards him, he immediately opened his arms.

Sean leaped smoothly into Van der Gaag's arms.

Van der Gaag held Sean and stepped back several paces before regaining his balance, startled out of his ecstasy:

'Luckily I'm still young, otherwise...'

In the away fans' stand, the Ajax supporters who had traveled with the team were also in an uproar.

A middle-aged woman in a dark red trench coat, who had been sitting quietly among the jumping fans, looking out of place with everything around her, suddenly sprang up.

Waving the number 19 Ajax jersey in her hand wasn't enough, shouting at the top of her lungs wasn't enough, so she grabbed the collar of the person next to her and shrieked loudly:

"That's my son, that's my son!!!"

"Uh~"

The poor fellow, being shaken violently by Anna, said intermittently, "Con~gratulations~ ma'am, you have a good son!"

"Hahahaha..."

Anna released the unlucky guy, looking at her son who was celebrating, her smile bright and radiant.

The unlucky guy wasn't angry; instead, he and the surrounding fans joined in, congratulating Anna with a flurry of words.

Thus, Anna's smile became increasingly uncontrollable... "Goal!"

"Sean!"

"Wow~ One minute and thirteen seconds into the match, Sean opens the scoring for Ajax!"

"Without a doubt, Ajax has started well!"

"Let's watch the slow-motion replay. Wow~ What a clever run!

The moment De Sa passed the ball, it looked like the ball hadn't even left his foot, and Sean was already making his run. Their coordination is truly telepathic!"

"More importantly, Sean's speed, arriving at the landing spot in time, and his agility, turning and shooting in one fluid motion!"

"If Sean had hesitated for even a moment, Almeida would have been able to defend!"

"Perfect, simply perfect!"

"Sean's shot looks simple, but considering the situation just now, not many forwards in the Eredivisie could do it!"

"Strange, if Sean's ability is so outstanding, why was he unknown before?"

"Regardless, with an early lead, Ajax will have a much easier game."

"The match continues, Emmen kicks off again..."
