DISCLAIMER: I do not own MY HERO ACADEMIA nor any characters related to it. I only own my OCs. I fully acknowledge the GOAT Kōhei Horikoshi as the great author to this amazing manga. The story is fully free cause i know the pain of not being able to finish a great series because of money. If anyone recognise the cover image and knows the original artist, please let me know if they would like me to take it down.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 — The Boy Who Stood in the Shadows

Musutafu City buzzed with chaos.

Sirens screamed. Helicopters hovered overhead, casting long shadows over the crowded streets. The citizens scattered as smoke curled from the collapsed corner of a convenience store.

On a massive billboard above the plaza, a smiling figure loomed larger than life.

All Might.

Children pointed excitedly.

"Look! That's the number one hero!""Someday, I'll be just like him!"

Amid the crowd stood a quiet boy.

Kurokami Ren. Ten years old. Thin. Messy black hair. Eyes that had learned to look but never seen.

He had no quirk. No power. Nothing that would make him matter in a society built on heroes.

A group of boys shoved him aside.

"Move, quirkless.""Why are you even here? You'll just get in the way."

Ren fell to the pavement, dirt smudging his sleeves. He clenched his fists but stayed silent. He had heard it all before. Every day, in every hallway, every playground, every street corner.

Then came the explosion.

A villain emerged.

A twisted figure, arms jagged like knives, stepping through the shattered glass of the store. The screams of the crowd were immediate. Fear painted every face—but one detail caught Ren's eye.

A small girl, no older than seven, frozen in the middle of the chaos.

The villain advanced.

No heroes had arrived yet.

Ren's legs shook. His hands trembled. He had no quirk, no tools, nothing to fight with. But the girl… she couldn't move.

Instinct overrode fear.

He dove forward, scooping the girl into his arms just as the villain's blade sliced the street where she had stood. Concrete shattered. Sparks flew.

The villain snarled, raising the jagged blades again.

And then…

A shockwave of light and power hit the street.

"NEVER FEAR!"

The crowd erupted. The ground trembled as a figure landed between Ren and the villain. Cape billowing. Smile unshakable.

"BECAUSE I AM HERE!"

With a single, decisive punch, the villain crumpled. Silence fell. And then, cheers.

The hero turned toward Ren, placing a massive hand on the boy's shoulder.

"Young man, you showed incredible bravery. But next time… leave the danger to professionals."

Ren nodded, swallowed the sting of shame, and watched as the hero disappeared into the cheering crowd.

Something stirred in him.

Bravery alone was not enough. Strength alone was not enough. The world only remembered heroes. The villains… they always came back.

Even at ten, Ren began to understand one simple, terrifying truth:

'Heroes protect people. Villains hurt people. But the system… the system is broken.'

Years later, when whispers spread across the underworld, they would speak of a man who could copy any quirk, grant powers to others, and command an army that struck fear into heroes and villains alike.

They would call him…

The Black Lotus.

But for now, Ren was just a boy. Quirkless. Invisible. Standing in the shadows, watching a world he had no place in—yet.

And somewhere deep inside, a seed of vengeance and ambition began to grow.

One day… the world would see him not as a child, not as a hero, not as a villain—but as a force beyond both.
