Gideon moved alongside, anchoring and controlling terrain, manipulating fallen logs and rocks to create barriers, channeling the creature's momentum into predictable paths. The fusion lasted only moments, but in that brief window, Ryan felt the overwhelming potential of his system.
The creature, wounded and confused, retreated into the shadows, disappearing into the depths of the forest. Ryan exhaled heavily, the adrenaline still coursing through him. He deactivated the fusion, the avatars returning to their individual forms.
