On the soft bed covered with rose petals, the silver-haired noble beauty pinned the young man beneath her, burying her face in his neck as she savored the sweetness of his blood.
"C–Christine… stop… that's… enough," Lin Mo said in a strained voice.
Haa…
With the last shred of her restraint, Christine pulled away. She lifted her head to look at him, breathing heavily.
Lin Mo's face was flushed now. There was no fear in his eyes after being fed upon—only a faint trace of reluctance.
After all, this was Christine. Being chosen by her was something countless humans could only dream of.
Just seeing the expression on Lin Mo's face made the hunger Christine had just suppressed flare up again. Startled by the sudden surge of desire, she quickly turned away, climbed off the bed, and spoke with her back to him.
"That's enough for today. You can go now."
After saying that, she hurried out of the room.
Watching her leave, Lin Mo finally let out a long breath. Still lying on the bed with his clothes in disarray, he felt completely drained and needed a moment before he could move.
This wasn't the first time.
Since a year ago, he had already been fed upon more than a hundred times in this very villa.
After resting for a while and recovering some strength, Lin Mo got up and went to the bathroom to shower. Christine's scent was far too distinctive. Every time she drank his blood, her fragrance lingered all over him.
There had even been several times when he forgot to wash it off and ended up being questioned by his sister when he got home.
After finishing his shower and putting on the fresh clothes prepared for him, Lin Mo went downstairs.
Only the blonde maid was in the living room. Christine was nowhere to be seen.
"Where's Christine?" Lin Mo asked curiously.
"Miss is still bathing. She asked me to drive you home. Also, this is today's payment." The blonde maid handed him a thick stack of crisp Federal credits.
"Thanks."
Lin Mo took the money and slipped it into his backpack.
"Then let's go."
"Alright."
After Lin Mo and the maid left the villa, Christine finally came out of the bathroom and returned to her bedroom.
She lay down on the rose-covered bed where they had been earlier and took out the clothes Lin Mo had changed out of before his shower.
Just smelling the faint scent lingering on them made her cheeks flush. She murmured his name softly under her breath.
"Lin Mo…"
————
By the time they left the villa, night had already fallen.
The city glittered with neon lights, and cars streamed endlessly along the roads.
Lin Mo sat in the passenger seat, holding a bottle of drink as he took slow sips. The color gradually returned to his face.
The drink he was holding wasn't ordinary. It was a special recovery beverage designed for humans who had been fed upon.
A normal recovery drink cost dozens of Federal credits and had mediocre effects. The one Lin Mo was drinking cost more than a thousand per bottle.
Of course, he could never afford something like that himself.
Christine provided it for him.
"Rich people really are something else," Lin Mo said while gazing at the night outside the window. "Other vampires spend a few dozen credits buying blood, or maybe a dozen for synthetic blood. But Christine? She sends a car to pick me up and drop me off, gives me thousands each time, plus these expensive recovery drinks. There's even a guaranteed hundred thousand credits every month. If you add it all up, one feeding probably costs her five to ten thousand."
"That's because you're worth it, Mr. Lin," the blonde maid, Sofina, replied calmly. "If it were another noble, they wouldn't treat you nearly this gently."
"Yeah," Lin Mo said with a faint smile. "If it were some other noble, they probably wouldn't stop at just drinking my blood. I'd have been dragged into bed with them a long time ago."
The car fell silent.
Sofina clearly hadn't expected the handsome human to say something so blunt. As Christine's personal maid, she carried herself with the dignity of a proper lady. Discussing such matters with a man like this left her at a loss for words.
Lin Mo understood her silence.
In this female-dominated society, women like her would never imagine a man—especially one considered this attractive—speaking so openly about such things.
Normally, he wouldn't either.
But after spending so much time around Sofina, he knew she wouldn't gossip, and her character was unquestionably proper. That was the only reason he dared to speak so casually.
"Aren't you curious?" Lin Mo said suddenly. "It's been a whole year, and Christine still hasn't touched me. Do you think something might be wrong with her?"
"Please don't say such things," Sofina replied immediately. "Miss is perfectly normal. She is exceptional in every way."
"Then why hasn't she done anything with me? Could it be that I'm not her type?"
"That's impossible. Ever since Miss turned you a year ago, she hasn't been with anyone else. That alone proves she likes you."
"Really…"
Lin Mo let out a breath and leaned against the car window.
Images of Christine drinking his blood surfaced in his mind, and his heart began to beat faster—especially the memory of her burning, desire-filled eyes.
"I just don't understand…"
————
When Lin Mo returned home and opened the door, a familiar feminine fragrance greeted him. A soft body immediately threw itself into his arms.
"Welcome back, big brother."
"Mm. I'm home, Qingyue," Lin Mo said gently, patting her back.
In the living room, the dining table was already set with a hearty dinner.
The girl pulled him to the table and sat close beside him. She picked up a piece of meat with her chopsticks and held it to his lips.
"Try it. Tell me if it tastes good."
Lin Mo took a bite and nodded with a smile.
"It's delicious. Qingyue did a great job."
"As long as you like it," Lin Qingyue said, a happy smile appearing on her slightly pale face.
Looking at his sister, Lin Mo felt a stab of pain in his chest.
They weren't actually siblings. They had grown up together in the same orphanage before being adopted by a couple. Several years ago, their adoptive parents died in an accident.
That same accident had left Lin Qingyue gravely ill. She now depended on expensive medication just to stay alive and could only remain at home every day.
"Brother, you came back so late today. Did you go to another part-time job again?" Lin Qingyue asked.
"Yeah. Same as before," Lin Mo replied, gently rubbing her head. "I was tutoring a middle school boy. Don't worry—it's easy work."
"Tutoring can still be dangerous," she said with concern. "I've been seeing a lot of news lately about male tutors getting bullied by the lady of the house. Maybe you shouldn't keep doing it."
Lin Mo smiled faintly.
"I can't quit. If I stop tutoring, how will I afford your medicine? Besides, the family I work for only has a father and son. There's no lady of the house, so it's perfectly safe."
Hearing this, Lin Qingyue lowered her head and spoke softly.
"It's all my fault… I'm useless. I can't protect you, and you have to work so hard every day because of me. Maybe I'd be better off dead."
"Qingyue, don't say that," Lin Mo said firmly, placing his hands on her shoulders. "If you died, I'd really be alone in this world. What would I do then?"
"Brother…"
Lin Qingyue threw herself into his arms and began to cry. Lin Mo held her tightly, gently patting her back to comfort her.
"It's okay," he whispered softly. "Just give me another six months. Once I've saved enough money, you'll finally be able to have the surgery."
