"HUh?! What's happening now? where am I? why am I floting? Is this space? WAIT SPACE??"
Raven suddenly woke up with a start only to realize that he was not in his bed sleeping in his rented apartment but instead flaoting in what he could only think of as space. Everywhere one could look, it was dark with a few light point twinkling, like stars in the starry sky on a cloudless night without light pollution.
And somehow he was floating in this space thingy.
It was a unique experience to say the least.
" Well it definitely is one heck of a realistic dream! Still this is the first time I have been so self concious in my own dream. Usually I doesn't even remember what I had dreamt of the moment I wake up..hehe"
He thought with a chuckle, believing it to be a weird dream. However, while he was looking around the space to figure out things, the whole place started shaking and rumbling. It felt like the space itself would collapse soon and destroy everything altogether.
Still Raven was very calm and collected and had the feeling of watching an ultra realistic movie. After all, to him it was all an dream and he as the main character of the dream had full conciousness. He cannot be hurt after all, so what's there to be afraid of?
While he was observing everything with the perspective of an observer, the whole place was suddenly illuminated with a bright light from behind him.
When Raven turned around to look at the source of that light he was even stupified for a moment, for what appeared in front of him this time was the very planet he lived on itself. The planet " Mesfim " with 60% land area and the rest 40% water.
" It's beautiful ...!!"
Even someone like Raven who was proud of his imaginations was meserised. It was a novel experience to say the least.
However, before he could fully admire the sight before his eyes, another change occured in the space around him. Another source of light appeared from the distance, though it felt much smaller and fainter then the massive behemoth of a life bearing planet behind him.
" I knew I was creative, but not to this extent!"
Even he himself was shocked by how realistic this dream felt.
And while Raven was admiring himself for his creativeness, that smaller ray of light collided with the planet Mesfim and actually tried to integrate itself into it.
However, at this exact moment, the whole planet shook again shaking the space surounding it as well and fiercely repelled the smaller ray of light from entering the planet.
Over time, the brightness of the foreign light dimmed significantly as if absorbed by the planet itself. Yet if felt like it was getting much clearer and purer.
He couldn't tell how he knew all that, but he just felt tlike that's what was happening .
Suddenly Raven heard a loud scream originating from that smaller ball of light and it was finally integrated by the planet into the planet. And with that this weird dream came to an end and Raven woke up with a start.
....
Huff huff huff.....
Loud panting sounds echoed in a small apartment in the city of fortune.
A young man with an average build and an above average face with long dark hair tied into a ponytail was breathing heavily on his bed. His face was covered in sweat and the expression on his face was one of shock and terror.
Over time, the man calmed down and started organising his thoughts.
" That was ...something else for sure! Have i been Reading too many novels these days for me to dream of something so bizarre? And to think i could even remmeber everything so cleary to the finest detail even after waking up.
Still, what was that at the end? What was that weird scream? I almost felt like i would disintegrate into fine cosmic dust just by hearing that sound like in those fantasy novels i read.
Or maybe....is this a sign that i should let my creativity flow and write my own book......."
While thinking about the weird dream halfway, his head started pounding again and a sharp pain rose from his skull. Before he could even comprehend what was happening, he felt like some blurry bizarre memory fragments were surfacing in his mind.
He seemed to see that weird dream again, just this time from the perspective of the samll ball of light.
How it drifted into the empty confines of space for what he could only think of as eternity, how it searched for life bearing planets but found none, how it ..... after finding this massive planet, tried to invade it and absorb its vital energy but was instead counterabsorbed . The sheer terror it felt while being devoured, the desperation and finally after being almost completely sucked dry of all its energey it was left with, how it was discarded by the planet and incidentally fell on his head and integrated with him instead.
Along with this information, many other memories seem to surface in his mind but were somehow blocked and stored for later use.
" So....it seems i am quite lucky after all huh?! To think i of all people would encounter an opportunity like this.....hahahahahahahahaaa!!!"
After a momentt, Raven couldn't help but burst into joyful laughter. After all, the information he received was not only limited to this. Coupled with his experience in reading fantasy books and novels, he had almost figured out what had just happened to him.
That's right!
He had been grumbling abut his life being too monotonous and lack of any fantasy like feature just yesterday and today he had stumbled upon this huge opportunity from space. Though it would be more accurate to say that the opportunity stumbled onto him instead.
"It seems what I thought was a dream was in fact something that actually happened yeterday and that's also the reason why i suddenly felt sooo tired and fell asleep early. That smaller ball of light was the remnant soul of some super powerful expert in the universe which was searching for a suitable source of energy to devour and return to it's previous state and maybe even reconstruct it's physical body.
However it underestimated the planetary will of Mesfim and was instead devoured by the planet itself. "
" Later that soul fell on top of me and tried to use whatever remaining energy it had after being sucked dry by Mesfim to devour my soul and take control of my body...BUT it just wasn't enough and that expertly soul was devoured and integrated by my weak soul itself!! "
He took a deep breathe to calm his emotions and then continued organising the situation at hand.
" Now after devouring that soul, although i don't feel any change, according to the plot I must have other gains other than the memories of Mr. Expert. Whatever they may be. Well we can figure that out later"
" I think I also expended a lot of energy to resist possession by that soul and counterdevour it yesterday, that's why I was super hungry and sleepy!"
Raven also couldn't help but wonder if he still hasn't completely integrated the soul with his own soul because of lack of energy and that's why not much has changed in him even after receiving such huge opportunity.
Thinking along that line and finding that reasonable, he took action, ate his full again and went to sleep.
Although it was just his speculation on his part cause he was just trying to make sense of the things happening to him. And the source of his specualtion were the novels he had read all along.
After all, imagination is a acary ability we posssess. Even if his speculation turns out to be wrong all along, it wont cause him any harm to rest for some time.
