Chapter 1 - The First Glimpse of Destiny

In Bengali culture, marriage is not only the union of two individuals but also the coming together of two families. This belief has been deeply rooted in society for generations. The story of Subhronill and Abira begins in the same traditional yet evolving setting of an arranged marriage.

Subhronill was a 27-year-old history professor at M.K. Gandhi College. He came from a simple middle-class family that valued education, honesty, and cultural traditions. Calm, thoughtful, and deeply passionate about history, Subhronill spent most of his time teaching students, reading books, and discussing ideas with his colleagues.

On the other hand, Abira was a 26-year-old heart surgeon working at Rammohan Hospital. She belonged to a wealthy and well-established family. Intelligent, confident, and dedicated to her profession, Abira had built a strong identity through her hard work and determination. Her life revolved around long hospital shifts, surgeries, and caring for patients.

Although their lives were very different, fate was quietly preparing a path that would eventually bring them together.

The search for a suitable life partner began in both families. Like many Bengali families, they relied on family networks and modern matrimonial platforms to find a compatible match. Parents carefully considered many aspects such as education, profession, family background, and cultural values.

When Subhronill's parents first heard about Abira, they were impressed by her achievements as a heart surgeon. At the same time, Abira's parents appreciated Subhronill's calm personality and his respectable career as a professor.

After several discussions between the families, they decided that the two should meet.

Their first meeting took place in a calm and comfortable setting in Kolkata. The atmosphere was slightly formal at first, as both of them were meeting each other for the first time with the possibility of marriage in mind.

Subhronill spoke politely about his life as a history professor—how he enjoyed teaching students and exploring the stories of the past. Abira shared her experiences from the hospital and the challenges of working as a heart surgeon.

At the beginning, their conversation was simple and cautious. They were both curious about each other but also slightly nervous. However, as the conversation continued, the initial formality slowly began to fade.

They discovered small points of connection—an appreciation for books, respect for dedication to one's profession, and a shared understanding of responsibility towards family.

There was no dramatic moment or instant declaration of love. Instead, there was a quiet sense of comfort growing between them. Sometimes a small smile, a thoughtful response, or a moment of shared laughter created a subtle bond.

Meanwhile, both families waited with hope and excitement. In arranged marriages, the approval and blessings of the family play an important role. When Subhronill and Abira expressed their willingness to continue the relationship, the families happily moved forward with the next steps.

Soon, the traditional ceremonies of Adan Pradan and Ashirbaad were arranged. During these ceremonies, the families formally blessed the couple and exchanged gifts and sweets. Elders placed rice and sacred grass on their heads, offering prayers for a happy and prosperous life.

For Subhronill and Abira, this was the beginning of a new journey—one that had started with curiosity and respect, and that would slowly grow into understanding, companionship, and love.

And so, what began as a simple meeting arranged by families gradually turned into the first glimpse of destiny.
