Explanation

Spiritual Energy and Qi

Spiritual energy is the raw, unrefined energy that exists naturally throughout the universe. It flows through heaven and earth, filling mountains, rivers, forests, and spirit veins.

Cultivators absorb this spiritual energy and refine it within their bodies. Once refined, this energy becomes Qi, a stable and usable form of power that cultivators can control for techniques, strengthening the body, and advancing their cultivation.

In simple terms, spiritual energy is the raw resource, while Qi is the refined form of that energy.

Demonic Energy and Demonic Qi

Demonic energy is similar to spiritual energy, but it originates from darker and more chaotic sources such as resentment, bloodshed, negative emotions, and corrupted spiritual forces.

When cultivators refine demonic energy, it becomes Demonic Qi, a powerful but dangerous form of energy often used by demonic cultivators and forbidden techniques.

While spiritual Qi is generally stable and balanced, Demonic Qi can be more aggressive and destructive, often granting great power at the cost of greater risk.

Spiritual Roots

Spiritual roots are innate talents that allow mortals to sense and absorb spiritual energy from heaven and earth. They serve as the foundation for cultivation and determine how easily a person can gather and refine spiritual energy.

Spiritual roots can be divided into two main types: attribute spiritual roots and non-attribute spiritual roots.

Attribute spiritual roots correspond to natural elements such as metal, wood, water, fire, earth, wind, ice, and other elemental forces. Cultivators with these roots can more easily absorb and refine spiritual energy related to their specific attribute.

Non-attribute spiritual roots are rarer and do not correspond to a specific element. Instead, they allow cultivators to absorb spiritual energy in a more balanced or neutral form.

Spirit Veins

Spirit veins are natural formations in the world where spiritual energy gathers and condenses over long periods of time. They act as sources that continuously generate and release spiritual Qi into the surrounding environment.

Many natural places can become spirit veins if they accumulate enough spiritual energy. For example, a volcano may form a fire-attribute spirit vein because it continuously produces and releases fire Qi.

Cultivators often build sects, cities, or cultivation grounds near powerful spirit veins because the spiritual Qi there is richer and allows faster cultivation.
