{A Quiet Beginning}
Two peaceful weeks passed.
For the first time in what felt like forever... life slowed down.
Ian had fully recovered from the accident, the bruises on his body fading day after day, while Tyla had finally begun to leave behind the fear and trauma of everything that had happened.
No more hospital rooms.
No more sleepless nights.
No more fear.
Just peace...
And each other.
Early that morning, Tyla was still buried beneath her blanket, her eyes barely open, when the familiar notification sound from her phone echoed through the room.
She smiled without even looking at the screen.
She already knew who it was.
Ian.
Good morning, babygirl.
A sleepy giggle escaped her lips as she rubbed one eye and quickly typed back with clumsy fingers.
Good morning, daddy.
Only a few seconds later another message appeared.
Come to my house. I have something for you.
Her curiosity instantly woke her up.
Okay... I'll be there soon.
She jumped out of bed far more excited than she wanted to admit.
After taking a quick shower, she carefully dried her hair before applying a light touch of makeup. A soft floral perfume lingered around her as she fastened a pair of delicate earrings and slipped a few rings onto her fingers.
She chose a white tube top with light blue jeans, paired with simple white sneakers.
Looking at herself one last time in the mirror, she couldn't help smiling.
"I wonder what he's planning..."
She hurried downstairs.
"I'm going out, Mom!" she called.
Her mother smiled warmly from the kitchen.
"Okay, sweetheart. Be careful."
"I will!"
Seconds later...
Tyla arrived at Ian's mansion.
She unlocked the door with the spare key he had given her weeks ago.
The moment she stepped inside...
She froze.
Her eyes widened.
The entire floor was covered with countless red rose petals.
Soft candlelight danced across the room, casting a warm crimson glow against the walls.
Heart-shaped balloons floated gently near the ceiling.
A trail of roses stretched all the way through the living room...
Leading her somewhere.
She slowly followed it, her heartbeat growing faster with every step.
At the end of the trail stood an elegant dining table.
A luxurious breakfast had already been prepared.
Crystal glasses reflected the candlelight beautifully.
A bottle of red wine rested in the center beside fresh flowers.
And standing there...
Waiting for her...
Was ian.
Dressed in an elegant black shirt with the sleeves rolled to his forearms, he held a bouquet of deep red roses in his hands.
The gentle smile on his face was enough to make her heart melt.
"Surprise..."
He chuckled softly.
"A little surprise for my princess."
Tyla instinctively covered her mouth with both hands.
Her eyes sparkled with disbelief.
"Wow..."
She looked around again.
"This is incredible..."
She laughed through her excitement.
"You call this a little surprise?"
Without thinking twice...
She ran toward him.
Wrapping both arms tightly around his waist, she buried her face against his chest.
Ian smiled warmly as his arms surrounded her protectively.
For a few precious seconds...
Neither of them spoke.
They simply stood there...
Holding each other as if the rest of the world had disappeared.
When they finally pulled away, Ian leaned down and placed a brief, gentle kiss on her lips before handing her the bouquet.
"These are for you."
She accepted the roses carefully, bringing them close to her face.
"They're beautiful..."
Her eyes lifted to meet his.
"So are you."
A faint blush spread across her cheeks.
"Thank you..."
He pulled out her chair like a gentleman before taking his own seat across from her.
The breakfast began with quiet conversation and soft laughter filling the room.
Every now and then their eyes met...
Neither of them able to hide their smiles.
After tasting one of the dishes, Tyla's eyes lit up.
"This is amazing."
She looked at him with surprise.
"Did you really prepare all of this?"
Ian scratched the back of his neck with a small grin.
"I had a little help..."
"But I wanted everything to be perfect for you."
She smiled so brightly that his heart skipped a beat.
After a brief silence, Tyla looked down at her plate before speaking softly.
"The past few weeks..."
"They were really difficult."
Her fingers absentmindedly traced the edge of her glass.
"I honestly thought we'd never get to smile like this again."
Ian reached across the table and gently held her hand.
His thumb softly brushed over her fingers.
"Forget everything that happened."
His voice was calm...
Steady.
"It won't come between us anymore."
He smiled reassuringly.
"From now on..."
"It's just you and me."
"No fear."
"No pain."
"I'll make sure of that."
Tyla's eyes became glossy with emotion.
She squeezed his hand gently.
"Ian..."
"I really think you're the best person in the world."
He let out a quiet laugh, shaking his head.
"The best?"
"I don't know about that."
She smiled lovingly.
"I do."
"And I wouldn't trade you for anyone."
Ian couldn't help but laugh again at her innocent honesty.
Then he stood up, walked around the table, and gently kissed the top of her head.
The candlelight reflected in her eyes...
And for the first time in a long while...
Both of them truly believed...
That maybe happiness had finally found them. Silence settled between them for a few moments...
It wasn't awkward.
It was the kind of silence where words simply weren't needed.
Just being together was enough.
Ian slowly stood up from his chair before extending his hand toward her, a gentle smile resting on his lips.
"Dance with me."
Tyla looked at him in surprise before letting out a soft laugh.
"But there's no music."
A playful smile appeared on his face.
"There is now."
He reached for his phone, and within seconds, a soft romantic melody filled the room.
Tyla smiled as she placed her hand in his.
Ian gently pulled her to her feet.
His hand found its way to her waist while her hands rested around his neck.
Slowly...
They began to sway together to the rhythm of the music.
Neither of them cared about perfect dance steps.
They simply moved together...
Enjoying the warmth of the moment.
Tyla couldn't stop looking into his eyes.
And ian...
Never looked away from hers.
"You know..." he whispered softly.
"This is the first time in a long while that I've truly felt at peace."
A small smile curved across Tyla's lips.
"As long as we're together..."
"Everything will be okay."
Ian rested his forehead gently against hers, closing his eyes for a brief second.
"I promise you..."
"I'll give you even happier days than this."
"Every single day."
Tyla smiled, her heart overflowing with warmth.
"And I'll stay by your side..."
"No matter what happens."
For a while...
Neither of them spoke again.
They simply continued swaying beneath the warm candlelight, surrounded by roses and the soft glow filling the room.
At that moment...
The world outside no longer mattered.
There were no fears.
No painful memories.
Only two hearts...
Finally finding the peace they had been searching for.
