Arjun's breath grew heavy as the door handle slowly stopped turning. The hallway was silent again, but the golden light still leaked from the edges of the door. His heart pounded so loudly that it felt like the whole house could hear it.
"Arjun…" the whisper came again, slightly clearer this time.
He stepped back in fear. How does it know my name? he thought. His mind raced, but curiosity slowly pushed away his fear. With shaking hands, he reached for the handle.
The moment his fingers touched it, the door creaked open by itself.
A warm golden glow flooded the hallway. Arjun covered his eyes for a moment before looking inside. The room behind the door was strange—far bigger than the house should allow. Dust floated in the glowing air, and old paintings covered the walls.
At the center of the room stood a tall mirror, glowing faintly.
Arjun slowly walked toward it. As he got closer, he noticed something terrifying.
The mirror showed the room…
But his reflection was missing.
Suddenly, words began appearing on the mirror's surface, as if written by an invisible hand:
"YOU WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO COME BACK."
Before Arjun could react, the mirror cracked loudly.
And from inside it… a shadow began to move.
To be continued… 👀!
