Chapter 1 -  [Inventor Master]!!

The Yorbian Continent—an area abandoned by the world.

This place is called Meteor City, a dumping ground that bears all the garbage and unwanted things from across the world.

Because of this, no matter what happens here, the outside world will never bother to cast its gaze upon it.

Including a strange outsider who should never have belonged to this world—yet mysteriously arrived here.

"Phew… finally figured it out."

Within Meteor City, where piles of garbage stretched everywhere, a cluster of ramshackle houses stood out among the heaps of waste.

Inside one of those cramped and inconspicuous little houses, a somewhat youthful young man let out a long breath.

"Hunter x Hunter, the Yorbian Continent, Meteor City…"

Arvin Locke looked at his hands, where faint wisps of life energy slowly seeped out. His tone was filled with mixed emotions and complicated feelings.

"And Nen… huh."

Arvin Locke had never imagined that while he was alone in his small eighth-floor apartment, tinkering with some quirky invention ideas—

He would suddenly watch in horror as a No. 2 bus smashed straight through the wall and charged directly at him.

And just like that, he was sent into this high-risk world, the dangerous and perilous world of Hunter x Hunter.

"Although I'm fairly familiar with this world, and it even restored my body to my younger self, but…"

The veins on Arvin Locke's forehead bulged slightly.

"I never wanted to transmigrate here at all!!"

He had grown up alone since childhood, without much burden.

After becoming an adult, he relied on his hobby of invention and design. Some of the gadgets he made attracted attention online.

Through livestreams and short videos, he earned a little savings and even bought a small eighth-floor apartment in his hometown. Life had been fairly comfortable.

Just when things finally seemed to be getting better—

Who would have thought he'd suddenly get swapped into another world?

"Still… at least after transmigrating, my Nen ability awakened immediately, and it even seems to have been enhanced…"

Well, since he was already here, what else could he say?

Arvin Locke could only accept reality and let his mind sink into his Nen ability.

Nen Ability: [Inventor Master]

Description:

Based on the commissions and requests of others, the user can invent items originating from various infinite worlds.

Ability Effects:

[A True Master Always Carries the Heart of an Apprentice][Invention Has No Limits, But the Inventor Does]

[A True Master Always Carries the Heart of an Apprentice]

Humans cannot imagine things they have never seen. Any invention or creation is built upon the foundations laid by predecessors. The items invented will originate from inventors across countless worlds, drawing on their strengths and accumulating experience.

[Invention Has No Limits, But the Inventor Does]

The invented items will come from inventors of different alignments depending on the client's faction and the intended use of the invention.

"So in other words… the things I invent require someone else's commission or request before they can be created~~~"

Arvin Locke found this easy enough to understand.

After all, the essence of invention and creation is to better serve the world and humanity, isn't it?

Even the little inventions he used to make during his livestreams were mostly things his top donors requested.

Basically like fulfilling wishes.

Nothing embarrassing about that.

As for the two ability effects—

The first allowed him to draw on the strengths of many. The items he invented would originate from inventors across infinite worlds.

"That's actually great. It's definitely better than relying on my own designs."

Arvin Locke nodded. He was very clear about his own abilities.

He liked inventing, sure—but he could only make relatively simple gadgets.

As for inventions with truly extraordinary effects—things almost like magical tools…

Those would have to rely on the geniuses from other worlds.

As for the second effect, Arvin Locke also agreed with it.

When it comes to boundaries, it's better to keep them clearly defined.

The purpose of an object isn't inherently good or evil—the difference lies in the person using it.

A kitchen knife can be used to chop vegetables…

Or to kill someone.

But in Meteor City, the concept of such boundaries becomes extremely blurred.

"So the main factor should still be the intended use."

Arvin Locke gradually came to understand.

Take Gin from One Piece for example—when he first escaped captivity, he was undeniably a pirate on the evil side.

But at that time, all he wanted was simply a meal to fill his stomach.

"Likewise, in Meteor City… food is the most important thing."

Arvin Locke rubbed his temples.

After arriving in this world of Hunter x Hunter, he had spent two whole days inside, trying to figure out the situation.

There was no doubt about it—this was indeed Meteor City.

The house he currently occupied had originally belonged to a bottom-tier resident who lived atop the garbage mountains.

But two days ago, that person likely met with an accident while scavenging through the trash outside… and never came back.

Which allowed the newly arrived Arvin Locke to seamlessly take over the place.

Aside from awakening his cheat ability and Nen power, he also received the Hunter world's language and this small house as a bonus.

But in Meteor City…

Did this really mean starting the game with just a house and everything else to be scavenged?

"The simple food that was left in this house has already been eaten. I need to replenish my supplies."

Feeling the faint hunger coming from his stomach, Arvin Locke sighed helplessly.

What kind of situation was this?

He had finally transmigrated to another world, yet he still couldn't even get enough to eat.

As for going outside and fighting those ruthless Meteor City thugs over food—

Arvin Locke dismissed that idea immediately.

At his current stage—barely past the beginner phase—it was best to avoid conflict whenever possible.

Even though he had already awakened Nen and could barely be considered a Nen user.

Meteor City was full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers. You never knew when some terrifying expert might suddenly appear.

Better to stay cautious.

Besides, he was an inventor.

Using invention and creation to solve problems was his proper method.

Not brute force.

Furthermore, the current Meteor City outside didn't seem to match the time period he remembered.

Arvin Locke looked at the nearly empty room.

On the wall hung a tattered calendar.

1983.

"…Wait."

"What year the hell did I just end up in?!!"
