Chapter 6 – The Structure of Belief

Arin left the village behind.

From the ridge above, the small settlement slowly disappeared into the distance, becoming nothing more than a cluster of dark shapes on the endless gray land.

The villagers continued their lives.

Praying.

Working.

Believing.

Unaware that their faith had become the foundation of a new experiment.

Arin walked silently across the plains of the Chaos Void Plane, the Chaos Wonder Artifact of Knowledge floating quietly beside him.

For a long time, neither of them spoke.

Arin's mind was busy.

He was thinking about what he had just discovered.

Faith could create power.

But the system that collected that power had limits.

Limits that could be exploited.

Finally, Arin spoke.

"Artifact, summarize everything we've learned about faith energy."

The cube pulsed gently.

[Processing information.]

A small projection appeared in front of him.

Lines of glowing text and diagrams formed in the air.

[Faith Energy System – Basic Structure]

Stage 1 – Belief Generation

Intelligent life produces conceptual belief through worship or devotion.

Stage 2 – Faith Energy Formation

Belief condenses into faith energy around a conceptual anchor (symbol, god, idea).

Stage 3 – Divine Condensation

Faith energy compresses into Proto Godhood Crystals.

Stage 4 – Energy Collection

Crystals are transferred through conceptual currents to a higher divine entity.

Arin studied the projection carefully.

"So the believers generate everything…"

"But the god collects everything."

The artifact confirmed.

[Correct.]

Arin crossed his arms.

"That's an extremely efficient system."

A god didn't need to appear.

Didn't need to rule directly.

All they had to do was spread belief.

Once the system existed, power would flow endlessly.

"Like a divine farm," Arin murmured.

The artifact paused briefly.

Then responded.

[Analogy accepted.]

Arin continued walking.

"But that system only works when belief fits the structure the god created."

The cube flickered slightly.

[Confirmed.]

"Which means," Arin said, "if the belief changes enough, the system can't collect the energy."

The artifact displayed a new diagram.

Two streams of energy appeared.

One flowing upward into a massive structure.

The other moving independently.

[Experimental result confirmed.]

Arin nodded slowly.

"That's how I created the independent crystal."

He had not broken the system.

He had simply created a new path outside it.

The land ahead began changing slightly.

Small cracks appeared in the gray surface of the ground.

Faint mist flowed out of them.

Arin stopped.

The artifact reacted immediately.

[Void energy concentration increasing.]

Arin crouched near one of the cracks.

A thin stream of dark, shimmering energy flowed slowly from the opening.

It looked almost like smoke made from stars.

"This is Void energy…"

The artifact confirmed.

[Raw energy source of the Chaos Void Plane.]

Arin studied the mist carefully.

It felt different from faith energy.

Faith energy was warm.

Emotional.

Almost alive.

Void energy felt ancient.

Cold.

Neutral.

But incredibly powerful.

"This energy creates worlds."

[Correct.]

Arin looked at the crack more closely.

The energy drifting from it slowly spread across the land.

Nourishing the environment.

Feeding unseen systems.

"Then this plane really is a garden."

The artifact responded calmly.

[Concept Seeds require Void energy to grow.]

Arin's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Concept seeds…"

That phrase had appeared in the information he received when the artifact first activated.

"Explain Concept Seeds."

The cube pulsed again.

[Concept Seeds – primordial fragments of conceptual potential.]

A projection appeared.

Small glowing particles floated in the air.

Each one carried a different symbol.

Fire.

Water.

Life.

Death.

Belief.

Time.

Knowledge.

[Concept Seeds absorb Void energy and evolve into worlds, dimensions, or conceptual paths.]

Arin stared at the projection.

"So every concept begins as a seed."

The artifact confirmed.

[Correct.]

"Then what about Concept Paths?"

The projection expanded.

The small seeds grew into long branching structures.

[Concept Path: evolutionary development of a Concept Seed.]

[Multiple beings may walk the same path.]

[Final stage: Void Ultimate Path.]

Arin let out a quiet breath.

This explained the structure of power in the Chaos Void Plane.

Concepts evolved.

Beings studied them.

Those who reached the peak became the embodiment of that concept.

"Like the God of Belief."

The artifact responded immediately.

[Correct.]

Arin thought for a moment.

"If belief can reach an Ultimate Path…"

He looked at the floating cube beside him.

"Then knowledge can too."

The artifact glowed slightly brighter.

[Path of Knowledge acknowledged.]

Arin smiled faintly.

"So that's my goal."

Not power.

Not worship.

But understanding.

Understanding every concept.

Every system.

Every rule that governed the Chaos Void Plane.

Because once those rules were understood…

They could be changed.

Arin stood up again and looked across the endless plains.

Far away, floating islands drifted slowly through the sky.

Invisible rivers of faith still flowed toward the hidden God of Belief.

Worlds were growing somewhere in the distance.

Concepts were evolving.

And somewhere in the endless Chaos…

Other beings were walking their own paths.

Arin turned forward.

"Let's keep moving."

The artifact floated beside him.

[Destination?]

Arin smiled slightly.

"Wherever knowledge leads."

And so he continued his journey across the ancient Chaos Void Plane.

Unaware that deeper within the endless realm…

Something far older than the God of Belief had just begun watching him.
