Chapter 32 - Chaos at the Harbor

Leon's pupils suddenly shrank.

Wena's words had completely ignited his anger.

"What did you do to Alberto?!"

With a furious roar, the harpoon in Leon's hand shot forward like a sea dragon bursting from the ocean!

The attack was heavy and powerful, driven by pure rage. The tip of the harpoon tore through the air with a shrill whistle as it aimed directly for Wena's chest.

"Hmph!"

Though Wena was seriously injured, the enhanced physique and reflexes granted by his Zoan Devil Fruit allowed him to react quickly.

His elongated body bent backward at an impossible angle.

The cold flash of the harpoon passed almost against his fur, slicing a few strands of hair and drawing a thin line of blood.

"Want to know?"

Using the momentum of his backward bend, Wena kicked off the ground and launched forward.

The blade stolen from Alberto traced a curved arc, slashing straight toward Leon's wrist—the hand gripping the harpoon.

"Ask him yourself in hell!"

Leon reacted instantly.

With a twist of his wrist, he flipped the harpoon shaft upward.

CLANG!

The metal shaft blocked the blade with a crisp collision.

The two weapons clashed for the first time.

Leon felt a savage force travel through the shaft, numbing the web between his thumb and forefinger.

This bastard… even after such injuries he still has this much strength? Zoan users really are troublesome.

The clash lasted only a moment.

The two separated by half a step, eyes locked onto each other.

"Dachshund Whiplash!"

Wena growled as he attacked again.

Planting both hands on the ground, he used them as a pivot.

His long flexible body spun like a windmill.

With his legs together and the rotational force from his core muscles, his sweeping kick howled toward Leon's lower body.

Leon hadn't expected such a bizarre technique.

He quickly stepped back while slamming the butt of the harpoon downward.

BANG!

The leg collided heavily with the metal shaft.

A powerful rotational force traveled up the pole, making Leon's arms ache.

Wena flipped backward gracefully using the recoil, though he staggered slightly upon landing due to his injuries.

Leon clenched his teeth and took a deep breath, suppressing the surge of blood in his chest.

"Harpoon Thrust — Rapid Strikes!"

With a low shout, Leon unleashed a flurry of thrusts.

The harpoon transformed into a storm of deadly afterimages that sealed every possible escape route.

Wena's pupils shrank sharply.

His long body twisted and bent in unnatural ways, joints moving beyond normal limits.

This harpoon guy… he's even stronger than that mute swordsman on the ship!

"Slash!"

Despite his desperate dodging, Leon's attacks were too fast and dense.

A flash of cold steel tore through Wena's shoulder blade, ripping open a deep wound that exposed bone.

"ARGH—! Damn you… harpoon bastard!"

The intense pain ignited a savage glint in Wena's eyes.

He stopped focusing purely on evasion.

Instead, he swung his blade wildly, creating a storm of flashing steel.

Combined with the unnatural flexibility of his upper body, he fought like a madman—pure desperation.

"CLANG CLANG CLANG CLANG—!"

The metallic collisions rang out like exploding beans.

The two fighters dashed and twisted across the dockyard.

Wooden crates shattered under the impact.

Moored ropes were cut apart by stray blows.

The once orderly dock quickly turned into a battlefield of chaos.

"CLANG—!!!"

Another brutal head-on clash!

Leon was forced back three steps.

Even his arms—from fingertips to shoulders—tingled with numbness.

Wena used the rebound force to roll backward, pulling away to a safer distance while barely supporting himself with his blade.

Although they seemed evenly matched, anyone with sharp eyes could see—

Wena was already at the end of his strength.

"You can't escape."

Leon steadied his breathing and raised the harpoon again.

Wena slowly lifted his head.

He wiped the blood bubbling from his mouth but said nothing.

Instead, his gaze swept across the surroundings.

The fierce battle had already attracted a huge crowd of onlookers.

People surrounded the dock area tightly, watching from afar.

"Ha… hahaha…"

Wena suddenly let out a hoarse laugh.

Then—

He made a move that stunned everyone.

Instead of facing Leon, he suddenly turned and lunged toward the nearby civilians and dock workers watching the fight.

"If you don't want to die, get the hell out of my way!"

Completely abandoning defense and ignoring Leon, Wena plunged straight into the crowd.

His blade slashed wildly.

He intended to use innocent people as a barrier—creating chaos and casualties to block Leon's pursuit and carve out a path to escape.

"AAAH—!"

"He's killing people!"

"Run! Run!"

In an instant, the dock exploded into panic.

Screams, cries, and shouts filled the air.

The crowd scattered like a swarm of disturbed hornets, pushing and trampling over each other.

The entire scene spiraled out of control.

"Guards! The kingdom's guards are here!!"

Someone screamed in the chaos.

A squad of soldiers wearing Alabasta's distinctive white robes rushed in from the main road and nearby alleys.

Their captain immediately noticed the devastation.

The rampaging Wena.

And Leon, radiating killing intent.

His face darkened.

"Seal off the harbor!"

"Disperse the crowd! Protect civilians and cargo first!"

The soldiers spread out in a fan-shaped formation, closing in toward the center.

"Guards?"

Wena grinned, revealing bloodstained teeth.

A cunning glint appeared in his eyes.

Instead of retreating, he became even more reckless.

He grabbed nearby civilians who couldn't escape in time and hurled them like sacks toward the approaching soldiers.

"Catch them! Hahaha!"

The soldiers were forced to lower their weapons to catch the innocent victims.

Their formation immediately broke into chaos.

And Wena seized that exact moment—

He dashed through the opening in the line.

Damn it! He's escaping!

Leon immediately moved to chase him.

"Don't move! Move again and we'll shoot!"

The guard captain shouted.

At the same time, archers and musketeers positioned on higher ground raised their weapons.

Dozens of ranged weapons locked onto Leon.

The overwhelming sense of danger forced him to stop.

Meanwhile, Wena leapt onto a tall stack of cargo.

Looking back at Leon—now blocked by the guards—he even paused to mock him.

"Come chase me, harpoon idiot!"

I can't let him escape… Alberto's revenge…

"Harpoon — Heavy Current Break!"

Leon roared.

Channeling all his strength into his right arm, he hurled the harpoon like a javelin straight toward Wena.

The weapon turned into a dark streak that tore through the air with a terrifying shriek.
