Chapter 1 - Unnamed

The Mystery of the Lost Mountain

In a small and peaceful village in West Bengal lived two best friends named Rahul and Suman. They had been friends since childhood. Both of them loved adventure, exploring new places, and solving mysteries. While other children in the village liked to play simple games, Rahul and Suman always dreamed of discovering hidden places and secret treasures.

Near their village there was a large and dark forest. People in the village often talked about that forest. Some said strange sounds could be heard at night. Others said that there was a mysterious mountain hidden deep inside the forest. According to an old legend, many years ago a king had hidden a great treasure inside that mountain.

However, nobody in the village dared to go there. People believed the place was cursed or dangerous.

One evening Rahul and Suman were sitting near the village tea stall. An old man who lived in the village overheard their conversation about adventure.

The old man slowly walked toward them and said in a deep voice,

"Do you boys know about the Lost Mountain inside the forest?"

Rahul and Suman looked at each other with curiosity.

"No, grandfather. What is the story?" Rahul asked.

The old man sat down and began telling them the story.

"Many years ago, a powerful king ruled this land. Before he died, he hid a huge treasure inside a mountain cave in the forest. But the path to that treasure was full of traps and mysteries. Many people tried to find it, but none returned."

The old man then looked seriously at the boys and said,

"If you ever go there, you must be very brave."

Rahul smiled and said confidently,

"We are not afraid."

That night Rahul and Suman could not stop thinking about the story. They decided that they would go to the forest and find the Lost Mountain.

The next morning they prepared for their journey. They packed a bag with a torchlight, rope, a knife, water bottles, and some food. Rahul also carried a small compass so they would not lose their direction.

Before leaving, Suman said,

"This is going to be the greatest adventure of our lives!"

They started walking toward the forest early in the morning. As they entered the forest, the sunlight slowly disappeared under the thick trees. The forest was dark and quiet. The sound of birds and insects filled the air.

After walking for almost two hours, they suddenly heard a strange rustling sound behind them.

Suman whispered,

"Did you hear that?"

Rahul turned around and shone the torch. It was just a deer running through the bushes.

They both laughed and continued walking.

After some time they reached a narrow path between large rocks. At the end of the path they saw something surprising.

A large mountain stood in front of them.

"This must be the Lost Mountain!" Rahul said excitedly.

They began climbing the rocky path. After climbing for some time, they found a hidden cave entrance covered with vines.

In front of the cave there was a large stone with strange symbols carved on it.

Suman touched the stone and said,

"These symbols look very old."

Rahul examined them carefully.

"Maybe it is a warning," he said.

But their curiosity was stronger than their fear.

They took a deep breath and entered the cave.

Inside the cave it was very dark and cold. The sound of dripping water echoed through the walls.

They slowly walked deeper into the cave using their torch.

Suddenly Rahul stopped.

"Look!" he whispered.

On the ground there was an old wooden box partially buried under the dirt.

Their hearts started beating faster.

"Do you think this is the treasure?" Suman asked excitedly.

They cleared the dirt and pulled the box out. It looked very old and heavy.

Rahul slowly opened the lid.

Inside they found gold coins, shining even in the dim light of the torch. There was also an old map folded carefully.

Suman could not believe his eyes.

"We actually found it!"

But just at that moment, a loud rumbling sound echoed through the cave.

The ground shook slightly.

They looked around nervously.

"What was that?" Suman asked.

Rahul quickly picked up the map and opened it. On the map there was a message written in old handwriting:

"Only those with courage and wisdom will find this treasure. The greatest treasure is not gold, but bravery and friendship."

Suddenly they realized the rumbling sound was caused by an old trap mechanism in the cave.

"Maybe the cave is unstable," Rahul said.

"We should leave quickly."

They took only a few coins as proof and carefully left the cave.

After climbing down the mountain, they looked back at the mysterious place.

Suman smiled and said,

"We actually did it."

Rahul replied,

"Yes. But the real treasure was this adventure."

When they returned to the village, everyone was amazed to hear their story.

From that day on, Rahul and Suman became famous in the village as the bravest adventurers.

And even today, people still talk about the two friends who discovered the Mystery of the Lost Mountain.
