A loud bang echoed in the hallway.
Autumn jumped.
"Hello?" a voice called.
Janitor.
Luca stepped back quickly.
"In here!" Autumn shouted.
The door unlocked a minute later.
The janitor frowned.
"Didn't realize anyone was still here."
"Neither did we," Autumn said quickly.
They stepped out into the hallway.
The tension between them still thick.
Luca walked beside her toward the exit.
"You need a ride?" he asked.
"I walked."
"Not in this rain you didn't."
She looked outside.
The storm was still pouring.
"Fine," she admitted.
