Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Right Person at the Wrong Number

The clock struck eleven. Under the soft glow of my desk lamp, I was busy organizing my chemistry notes. Tomorrow was the big test. Suddenly, my phone screen flickered to life. A WhatsApp message had arrived from an unknown number.

Message: "Still awake? Best of luck for tomorrow's exam! And don't forget to review the Periodic Table carefully."

I furrowed my brows. The number wasn't saved, and the profile picture was just a simple image of falling rain.

I typed back, "Thanks. But who is this?"

The reply came almost instantly— "It doesn't matter who I am. Just know that someone out there is praying for your success."

My heart skipped a beat. No further replies came. The next day, as I sat for the exam, I was stunned to find several questions straight from the Periodic Table. As I walked out of the hall, I saw Vicky standing by the college gate with his usual gang.

Vicky looked at me and sneered, "So, Akash, getting a bit too serious about your studies lately, aren't you? Don't fly too high, kid. I might just have to clip your wings."

His eyes flashed with a dangerous glint. I kept my head down and walked past him, but my mind was elsewhere—still stuck on that mysterious message. Who was this girl? And why was Vicky suddenly threatening me today?
