Chapter 1: The Unexpected Proposal
Emma Parker lived a very simple life. She was twenty-two years old and worked in a small café in the busy city. Every day she woke up early, helped her mother at home, and then went to work.
Her life was quiet and ordinary. She never expected anything exciting to happen to her.
One rainy evening, the café was almost empty. Emma was cleaning a table when a luxurious black car stopped outside. It was the kind of car she had only seen in movies.
A tall man stepped out of the car. He looked rich, confident, and a little cold. He walked into the café and sat near the window.
Emma walked toward him politely.
"Good evening, sir. What would you like to order?" she asked.
The man looked at her for a moment before answering.
"Just a cup of coffee."
Emma quickly brought the coffee. When she placed it on The man suddenly said wait
Emma looked confused. "Yes, sir?"
The man leaned back in his chair and looked at her seriously.
"My name is Daniel Carter," he said.
Emma didn't know why he was telling her his name, but she nodded politely.
Then Daniel said something that shocked her.
"I have an offer for you."
Emma blinked in surprise. "Offer?"
"Yes," Daniel replied calmly. "A marriage offer."
Emma almost dropped the tray in her hand.
"W-What?" she stammered
Daniel continued as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
"I need a wife. But only for a contract marriage."
Emma couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"A contract marriage?" she repeated.
Daniel nodded.
"One year. You will live with me as my wife. After one year, we will divorce and you will receive a large amount of money."
Emma stared at him silently. Her mind was full of questions.
Why would a rich man like him ask a stranger for marriage?
And why her?
Daniel placed a business card on the table and pushed it toward her.
"Think about it," he said quietly. "This could change your life."
Then he stood up and walked toward the door.
Before leaving, he looked back once and said,
"I will wait for your answer tomorrow."
The door closed behind him.
Emma stood there frozen, holding the card in her hand.
She had no idea that this strange proposal would soon turn her simple life into a story full of secrets, danger and unexpected love
