Chapter 4 - The Girl Who Bowed To a Mirror

The rumor spread faster than Eunwoo expected.

Which was impressive, considering Eunwoo had absolutely no idea it was spreading.

Inside the antique shop, life remained painfully uneventful.

For the past three hours, Lee Eunwoo had been staring at the same three things:

The door.

The ugly frog statue.

And his own reflection.

"I swear that frog gets uglier the longer I look at it."

The statue, unfortunately, had no opinion.

Eunwoo sighed.

"Maybe I should name it."

He thought for a moment.

"…Sir Frogbert."

Yes.

That sounded appropriately ridiculous.

Before Eunwoo could continue developing a deep friendship with a stone frog, the shop door creaked open again.

Ding.

Eunwoo immediately focused.

"Customer detected!"

A girl stepped inside.

She looked to be around twenty years old.

Long black hair tied in a simple ponytail. Sharp eyes. Lean build.

And most importantly—

A sword hung at her waist.

Eunwoo's system activated instantly.

[Target detected.]

Name: Arin Valcrest

Occupation: Wandering Swordswoman

Level: 21

Eunwoo almost screamed.

"LEVEL 21?!"

Compared to the adventurers from earlier, this woman was practically a boss monster.

"System! Analyze everything!"

[Analyzing…]

Detected Skills:

• Swift Blade Style

• Wind Step Technique

• Precision Strike

Eunwoo's excitement skyrocketed.

"Oh this is perfect."

"If she uses even ONE of those in front of me…"

He imagined himself collecting all three skills.

Maybe more.

This was the opportunity of a lifetime.

Meanwhile, Arin slowly walked into the shop.

Her expression was calm but cautious.

She looked around carefully, examining the dusty shelves.

Her gaze eventually landed on the mirror.

On Eunwoo.

She stopped walking.

"…So this is it."

Eunwoo blinked.

"…Huh?"

Arin stepped closer.

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

"I heard rumors."

Eunwoo groaned internally.

"Oh no."

Not rumors again.

Arin stopped directly in front of the mirror.

She stared at her reflection.

For several seconds she said nothing.

Eunwoo studied her carefully.

She had the look of someone experienced.

A traveler.

A fighter.

Someone who had seen a lot of battles.

Which made her next action completely unexpected.

She bowed.

Deeply.

Right in front of the mirror.

Eunwoo's brain stopped working.

"…WHAT?"

Arin straightened up and spoke respectfully.

"Great Mirror."

Eunwoo choked internally.

"GREAT WHAT?!"

Arin continued calmly.

"I have heard that you reveal the truth of swordsmanship."

Eunwoo blinked repeatedly.

"I do WHAT now?"

She placed one hand on the hilt of her sword.

"I am Arin Valcrest."

Her voice was steady.

"A wandering swordswoman seeking improvement."

She lowered her head slightly again.

"If the rumors are true…"

She drew her sword slowly.

"Then please judge my technique."

Eunwoo froze.

"Oh."

"Oh no."

The sword left the sheath with a smooth metallic sound.

Arin took a step back.

Then another.

Until she stood several meters away from the mirror.

Eunwoo panicked.

"System! What's happening?!"

[Target preparing sword technique.]

"WAIT WAIT WAIT—"

Arin exhaled slowly.

Her stance changed.

The air around her seemed to tighten.

Then—

She moved.

Her body blurred forward.

The sword flashed like lightning.

"Swift Blade!"

The slash cut through the air.

A powerful sword strike aimed directly toward the mirror.

Eunwoo braced himself.

"Please work."

The system activated instantly.

[Skill detected: Swift Blade Style.]

[Reflection activated.]

The mirror surface shimmered.

Arin's sword strike entered the reflection—

Then exploded outward.

A second slash appeared.

Faster.

Sharper.

Perfect.

BOOM.

A shockwave blasted across the shop.

Shelves rattled violently.

Artifacts clattered.

Dust filled the air.

Arin's eyes widened.

She jumped backward instinctively.

Her sword trembled slightly in her hand.

"…Impossible."

Eunwoo was also shocked.

"…That was cool."

The system chimed again.

[Skill acquired: Swift Blade Style.]

Eunwoo grinned internally.

"Yes!"

But Arin looked completely stunned.

She slowly stepped closer to the mirror.

Her breathing was uneven.

"I… saw it."

Her eyes were filled with disbelief.

"My technique…"

"…was improved."

Eunwoo tilted mentally.

"Improved?"

Arin stared at the mirror with growing awe.

"The angle… the speed… the balance…"

She whispered softly.

"That was the perfect version."

Eunwoo blinked.

"Wait really?"

Arin suddenly dropped to one knee.

Then she bowed again.

Deeply.

"Master."

Eunwoo almost fainted.

"MASTER?!"

Arin spoke with absolute sincerity.

"I have trained my sword for ten years."

Her voice carried deep respect.

"But with one reflection…"

She clenched her fist.

"You showed me my flaws."

Eunwoo tried to explain.

"Actually that was just the system—"

But again.

He was a mirror.

No sound came out.

Arin interpreted the silence differently.

She lowered her head even more.

"I understand."

Eunwoo did not understand.

"A true master speaks through action, not words."

Eunwoo mentally facepalmed.

"This misunderstanding is evolving."

Arin stood up slowly.

Her expression had completely changed.

Earlier she looked cautious.

Now she looked determined.

"Master."

She spoke again to the mirror.

"I will return."

Eunwoo blinked.

"…Return?"

Arin sheathed her sword.

"Until I perfect my technique."

She bowed one last time.

"I will train."

Then she turned and walked toward the door.

But before leaving, she paused.

Without looking back, she said quietly—

"Thank you."

The door closed behind her.

The shop returned to silence.

For a long moment Eunwoo said nothing.

Then he sighed.

"…I just accidentally became someone's sword teacher."

The system chimed again.

[New Title Unlocked.]

Eunwoo groaned.

"Here we go."

Title: Silent Sword Master

Effects:

• Sword Skill Learning Speed +20%

• Reputation +15%

Eunwoo stared blankly at the notification.

"…Reputation with WHO?"

Outside the shop, Arin was already walking down the street with shining eyes.

Her thoughts raced.

"That mirror…"

"It perfectly reflected my technique."

She clenched her fist with excitement.

"I've finally found a true master."

And just like that—

Lee Eunwoo, the completely confused reincarnated mirror—

Had gained his first disciple.
