Part 2 – When Fast Love Becomes Dangerous

The days after Ethan met Lily felt unreal.

Everything in Ethan's life started moving faster than he ever expected.

Every morning he woke up with a smile, something he hadn't done in years.

And every night, before sleeping, Lily was the last thing on his mind.

They met almost every day.

Sometimes at Moonlight Café, sometimes by the quiet river, sometimes just walking through the peaceful streets of Riverdale.

It felt like their lives had suddenly become one story.

But fast love can be beautiful.

And sometimes…

It can be dangerous.

A Love That Grew Too Fast

Two weeks passed.

One evening Ethan and Lily were sitting on a wooden bench near the river.

The sunset painted the sky orange and pink.

Lily leaned back, looking at the sky.

"Do you ever feel like time moves too fast?" she asked.

Ethan looked at her.

"What do you mean?"

She smiled softly.

"Like… everything important in life happens suddenly."

Ethan shrugged.

"Maybe that's how life works."

Lily looked at him for a long moment.

Then she said something unexpected.

"Ethan… what if I disappeared one day?"

Ethan frowned.

"That's a weird question."

"Just answer."

Ethan laughed lightly.

"I'd find you."

"But what if you couldn't?"

"Then I'd keep looking."

Lily's smile slowly faded.

She looked down at the river water.

"Even if it took forever?"

Ethan replied without hesitation.

"Yes."

For a moment, Lily didn't say anything.

Then she whispered quietly—

"You're too good for this world."

Ethan didn't understand why she said that.

But something about her voice sounded… sad.

The First Warning

A few days later, Ethan noticed something strange.

Lily had stopped answering her phone sometimes.

Sometimes she disappeared for hours without telling him.

One night Ethan waited at Moonlight Café for almost two hours.

Lily finally arrived.

She looked exhausted.

Her hair was messy, and her eyes looked worried.

"Sorry I'm late," she said quickly.

Ethan frowned.

"Where were you?"

"Just… busy."

"Busy doing what?"

She hesitated.

Then she forced a smile.

"Nothing important."

But Ethan could tell she was hiding something.

He leaned closer.

"Lily… you can tell me anything."

For a moment it looked like she wanted to speak.

But then she shook her head.

"It's nothing. Really."

Ethan felt uneasy.

Fast love had brought them close.

But suddenly there were secrets between them.

And secrets can destroy even the strongest love.

The Man in the Black Car

One evening Ethan walked Lily home.

Her apartment was in an old building near the edge of town.

As they reached the building, Ethan noticed something strange.

Across the street, a black car was parked.

Inside the car sat a man watching them.

The man wore a dark jacket and sunglasses, even though it was already evening.

Ethan felt uncomfortable.

"Do you know that guy?" he asked.

Lily quickly looked toward the car.

Her face suddenly turned pale.

"No."

But her reaction said something different.

The man inside the car slowly started the engine.

Then the car drove away.

Ethan looked back at Lily.

"You're hiding something."

Lily looked scared.

But she forced a smile again.

"Ethan… trust me."

"Trust you about what?"

She gently held his hand.

"Just trust me."

But for the first time since they met…

Ethan felt afraid.

The Night Everything Changed

Three nights later Ethan received a message from Lily.

It was short.

"Meet me at the river. Urgent."

Ethan immediately left his apartment and ran toward the river.

When he arrived, Lily was standing near the water.

The wind blew strongly, moving her hair across her face.

She looked nervous.

"Ethan," she said quietly.

"What's wrong?"

She took a deep breath.

"I need to tell you something."

Ethan waited.

But before she could speak—

Headlights suddenly appeared behind them.

A black car stopped near the road.

The same car Ethan had seen before.

Three men stepped out.

Lily's face filled with fear.

"Oh no…"

Ethan turned toward the men.

"Who are they?"

Lily grabbed his arm.

"Ethan… we have to leave."

"Why?"

"Because they're here for me."

The men started walking toward them slowly.

One of them shouted—

"Lily! You can't run forever!"

Ethan's heart started beating faster.

"Lily… what is going on?"

Her voice trembled.

"I'm sorry… I didn't want you involved in this."

The men were getting closer.

Ethan stepped in front of Lily.

"What do they want from you?"

Lily whispered the words that changed everything.

"They think I stole something."

Ethan looked shocked.

"What?"

"But I didn't," she said quickly. "I swear."

The men were now only a few meters away.

One of them smiled coldly.

"Well, well… look who we found."

Ethan clenched his fists.

"What do you want?"

The man laughed.

"We just want the girl."

Lily's grip on Ethan's arm tightened.

Her voice was barely a whisper.

"Ethan… this is why I asked if you would look for me."

The wind blew harder.

The river water moved violently.

And Ethan realized something terrifying.

The girl he had fallen in love with…

Was in serious danger.

And now…

So was he.
